Ten Years after the fourth sequel, Steve Wilson and Brent Maddock have handed over the keys to the kingdom of Tremors.Up till now, the franchise has been restricted to Nevada and Mexico (with one scene in Chile). Now we are in Africa. The African cousin of the Graboid is a creature just as big, but so much more absurd looking that it is inevitably the highlight of the movie. In terms of visual effects, the CGI is miles ahead of the other sequels, but then again, think of how far computers have come in ten years. Michael Gross reprising the coming of age Burt Gummer still has some lead in his barrel, but he is getting a little tired. The script gives him two or three new toys, as well as a criminally dull new partner in no-name actor Jamie Kennedy. This sequel summons a somewhat darker, less cartoony tone than the previous entries. Some might appreciate that, but the movie needed more laughs. Still, if there are any Tremors fans left out there, This film will give you what you want.

Tremors 4 wasn't a great movie, but it had some excitement in it. The same cannot be said for Tremors 5, which has remarkably little in the way of thrills and suspense. There's also not much in the way of story or character. This time around it's basically just the Burt Gummer show, with other characters ranging from bland to irksome. And because the story soon separates into two separate threads that connect poorly, there is no real sense of momentum. And with no character development, you don't have much reason to care if these people live or die. There are a bunch of logic issues as well, and all sorts of clichés, but I don't need to name everything wrong with this movie. The point is, nothing is done very well.At the same time, it is perfectly watchable and keeps moving. So there's that. But if this is the best they can do, it's probably time to shut this thing down.

This has to be the corniest horror film I think i have ever seen. There are so many different scenes which I am assuming are jokes where something is peeing. Michael Gross, Jamie Kennedy, The Lion and this is what i'm thinking an underlying tone from the writers. As if the producer knows how horrendously bad this film is. There are 3 great atrocities of mankind. The holocaust, Slavery, and Jamie Kennedy's acting. To be frank Tremors didn't need a sequel let alone 4 of them. This is the pinnacle of really really bad movies. I can't think of many that's worse than what's playing in front of me right now. Fake Australians accents, horrible script writers, and a cast that would make Roger Ebert want to come back to life and commit suicide. Buddy comedies are disgusting to begin with and this is certainly no exception. There are new morphs called "Ass blasters" but sitting here feeling the pain in my O ring I can honestly say I was the one that was ass blasted. I wish IMDb had a option lower than awful. 'TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES': Three and a Half Stars (Out of Five)The fifth film in the popular monster flick series. It once again stars Michael Gross as Burt Gummer (the only actor to appear in all five films), and it costars newcomer (to the series) Jamie Kennedy. In this installment, Burt, and his new sidekick (played by Kennedy), must defend a South African wildlife reserve; from the deadly creatures. It was directed by Don Michael Paul and written by Woodrow Truesmith, M.A. Deuce, John Whelpley and C.J. Strebor. I found it to be a fun, and decently made, B-movie sequel. The story takes place 14-years after the end of the third film (the forth installment is a prequel). Burt Gummer (Gross) is now hosting his own reality TV show, on survival skills. Travis Welker (Kennedy) is a fan of his, who wants to help him expand his business; he also becomes Burt's new cameraman. A man from the South African Wildlife Ministry, named Erick Van Wyk (Daniel Janks), finds Burt, and Travis, and asks them to come to Africa; to help them take care of an Ass-Blaster problem there. Burt is skeptical, but agrees to the job.The first film is a classic (it's one of my all-time favorite monster movies); and I was pretty disappointed that the studios decided to go the 'direct-to-video' route, with all the sequels. I never expected them to get to a fifth installment though! I remember liking the other sequels, but not that much (I haven't seen them in a long time, and I don't really remember that much about them). Burt Gummer is a great character, and Gross is extremely likable in the role (next to 'FAMILY TIES', it's probably his most memorable part). It would be great to see Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward back in their parts too, but Kennedy isn't a bad addition to the franchise. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this chapter; it's funny and there's some pretty cool action scenes, and visuals in it, too. I like it.Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: youtu.be/5_iFqdaycDM
