Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

.Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

The acting is terrible and overly dramatic. Every scene the actors seem to be waiting for each other to say their lines to each other. Not much comes through as genuine in this movie. Even the organizer of the triathlon (Candace's) fight with cancer isn't heart felt or moving. She's got an amped up persona of a comedic tough chick that fails miserably. The movie comes off extremely scripted and I had a hard time being inspired or empathetic to any of the characters. Near the end there's a death, I won't say who for those that haven't seen it yet, but even those scenes lacked real emotion. The movie tries to use music to substitute for real emotion and that came across over done as well. I was honestly more inspired by watching old news clips of Julie moss as the main character was looking for inspiration. I'm not sure how this ended up with a 7.3

This little film packs a surprisingly big emotional punch, but it really succeeds because of the quiet scenes which are exceptionally well-written. The characters talk like real people and the challenges never explode up into lazily written melodramatic struggles between good and evil. Instead the characters deal with the things we all deal with, and that's what lends the writing its power. New writer/director Jai Jamison shows immense natural talent as both a director and a writer and I certainly expect and hope to see more films from this young and promising artist. His work captures all the beauty of a good documentary and mixes it with all the power of fiction to create a movie that I'd never thought that I would have loved... but I did.

With little interest in Triathlons, I was pleasantly surprised how involving the storytelling of this Indie film. A bit slow and a little more like a stage production in its beginning, through TRI's writing and film craft, characters subtly grow in your heart. The movie takes you on an emotional journey of a group of individuals encouraging each to recommit to personal struggles and overcome the voices within that thwart us from our goals. TRI is much more than a training movie for Triathlons. Its a movie about how each of us have moments in our lives where we can have a positive impact and contribute in the lives of strangers and loved ones. In a day of polarization in America, this is a refreshing experience. This family friendly film leaves even the jaded with a sense of purpose in their own abilities.

Tri is an excellent movie right from the start and keeps you wanting more. It will make you cry and it will make you laugh. It is a serious movie on serious topics but is done in a way to make it entertaining and fun. The characters are easy to fall in love with and relate to. The story is inspiring and makes you want to go follow your dreams. A must see movie of the year. You will leave this movie wanting to watch the sequel. In short this movies leaves you wanting more, to continue to learn more about the characters' lives and story line. I for one is hoping for a sequel to this movie. I would love to follow the characters' lives and see them cope with other aspects of their lives. Again great characters, great story. Loved it. Go see this movie you will love it too. Sal
