One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Japanese food as we never truly explored it is sublimed in this very passionate documentary. Beautifully shot to give its full meaning to the traditional Washoku, it captivates you all the way through. I really enjoyed listening to all those great chefs and learn so much about Japanese cooking but also culture. I you like eating good food and discover new tastes, this documentary is made for you and it will surely provoke a rush of hunger inside you. Where Jiro was a family story, Washoku goes far beyond to highlight the true and complete essence of Japanese cuisine. You will spend a wonderful moment and learn so much more than any other documentary about cooking that it becomes a must-see.
