Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
AboveDeepBuggy Some things I liked some I did not.
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
bricon23 Katherine Brooks, of reality television and Loving Annabelle fame, has once again proved why she is the best at what she does. Waking Madison is quite obviously a detailed, clear, and authentic representation of DID. One need not be a mental medical professional to understand the nuances of this disorder thanks to the superior research done by this award-winning filmmaker. However, those that are well-seasoned in the matters of DID can attest to Brooks' realistic portrayal through her protagonist Madison Walker (Sarah Roemer). Madison, with the help of Dr. Barnes (the stunning Elisabeth Shue) works to overcome her mind and reassemble the pieces of her life torn a part. Rounding out this well-chosen cast, Erin Kelly (Loving Annabelle), albeit in a part short and sweet, does not disappoint in her role as the sexy rebel, Grace. Most importantly Brooks demonstrates her mastery of character relationships, only this time between doctor and patient, as well as the relationships we all find within ourselves. Finally, Brooks solidifies her reputation regarding her wide-range of genre talent, branching outside the Gay and Lesbian category and emerging on the scene as a brilliant writer of psycho-drama.
sue12660 Normally I don't write a review for a movie. But,Waking Madison is a great movie written and directed by Katherine Brooks.I would highly recommend this movie to anyone. It is covering an issue that is so overlooked by many. Katherine found a way to portray a very important issue. How there are so many people that do suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder. This is the type of movie that you watch not expecting much, and are totally taken off guard how good it is. And Elisabeth Shue did an amazing job playing the psychiatrist to the girls in the psych ward. This is a very entertaining movie with a killer twist at the end that will make you want to re-watch the movie.
Fro Tasevska Waking Madison is one of the most dramatic, emotional and intriguing movie I've seen in the last few years. It is extremely touching movie with some autobiographical moments and truly encouraging one written with great love and maturity. Director Katherine Brooks really outdid herself with this movie. Once again she shows to us how truly commit she is to the movies she makes. This movie has an intense power running through it till the end. The best thing about Waking Madison is, that it's so real and natural based upon the trauma and experience of the author herself. It shows reality as it is. For some of us, seeing or better accepting the reality sometimes is so hard, that we want just to give up instead putting all the pieces together and going on our path life. You can learn a lot from this movie. It is worth every minute to watch it. Well done, Katherine !!!
ListenandThinkabout This movie stamps only a clichè-ridden image of MP. This movie shows only the voyeuristic fantasy of the writer and has nothing to do with MP. The writer hasn't researched anything about MPD/DID like I guess the reviewers calling this movie brilliant and awesome didn't. The story - clichè-clichè-clichè...The execution - clichè-chlichè-chlichè. The "hallway-walk" of Madison, the spot right into a room - a woman sitting in a bathtub bathing in blood ...boring old-fashioned clichè. This movie is just a not needed repeat of clichè-ridden, superficial, trivial not needed movies. If you really want to know something about MPD/DID and/ or women who have psychiatry experiences - talk to them. If you want to get entertained - watch another movie!
