Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

If I were to devise a top 10 of the worst ever Asylum movies, Way of the Vampire would almost certainly towards the top of that list. That's how dreadful it is. It is really amateurish-looking, with settings like look like people's basements, camera work so shaky and fragmented that it'd probably set off an epileptic fit and special effects and make-up as artificial as you can go. In terms of costumes, think of a Halloween costume complete with some fangs and the like and there you go. Audibly it is just as so, with really bizarre and overly-loud sound effects and music that doesn't fit at all with the movie, almost as if there had been a last minute story change and they had no time to think of a new soundtrack, or even worse that they weren't even trying to make things mesh with one another. The dialogue is some of the most banal you'll ever hear, that is when you can hear it that is, the story was a predictable idea in the first place but made even worse by the unacceptably senseless and often aimless(too much filler not enough atmosphere) telling of it and the characters are obnoxious stereotypes. The gore looks cheap and does nothing at all to enhance any scene they appear in, which are further let down by poor editing and clumsy direction anyway. The combat was really abysmally choreographed, no tension and often ridiculously over-simplistic. The acting is atrocious, even from Rhett Giles, who has given decent performances before but is way over-the-top here that it is painful to watch him. Overall, where to begin to describe the awfulness of Way of the Vampire? You think of something, I'm not wasting my time any more even talking about it. 0/10 Bethany Cox

Bram Stoker's Way of the Vampire. It seems cruel to use the name of a talented writer like him, to sell what has to be the worst vampire movie I had ever watched. Bad gore, bad acting, bad writing, thrown in there nudity ( to distract male viewers I'm sure to how bad this movie was). The only good thing was the movie ended.I mean I should have picked up it was bad by the use of the papyrus font on the back of the DVD. But I'd given the DVD a miss other times, and I thought I might as well watch it. I should have continued to give it a miss. The plot line: Van Helsing goes to slay Dracula, and leaves obvious stalker/vampire with wife- wife is turned and just lies there spouting off the most insipid one liners I've heard- and doesn't even fight back as he stakes her.Van Helsing- tortured hero goes to church and agrees to accept immortality so he can get revenge.Cut to modern times where he now works in a hospital. See the weird junkie/loser vamp steal blood... I can't do this recite this plot, it was too horrible to recall. Okay skip forward- Helsing discovering Sebastian 'the vampire prince' is in town goes to the Church and gets himself some hunters- one of which is the nurse who worked at hospital.Sebastian and whatzhername vamp have Nurse kidnapped... then I fastfowarded twenty minutes. Final battle- Sebastian kicks it, Nurse hasn't been bitten yay!. But Helsing is not dying ( and at here is the oh my god they are not going to try and set up a sequel)Oh Whatzhername is alive and she roars!! This now sits as the worst thing I have ever watched. Do not watch this film. Please don't have all these reviewers, and me have suffered for nothing. Do not put yourself through watching 'Way of the Vampire'.

While no "Way of the Teamsters" (the better prequel in this trillogy) this film offers a cinematic expose into the dark and gloomy world the undead.I wont spoil the many plot twists, many of which were hard to follow, especially since I saw the movie dubbed in Turkish while recovering from lasic eye surgery. However, you won't be disappointed with cliché contemporary romantasisms of secret populations of super powered beings living side by side of modern civillization locked in a perpetual war of which the mundane humans are mostly unaware except for some secret fraternal organization dedicated to eradication of the supernatural.I recommend this movie for any serious VHS collection.

"Braw Stoker's Way of the Vampire" is a below decent vampire film.**SPOILERS**A hundred years ago, Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, (Rhett Giles) tracked down a coven of followers of Vampire Count Dracula, (Paul Logan) and nearly destroys the group. In the modern times, his descendant is also hunting the same group, now led by Sebastien, (Andreas Beckett) and Arianna, (Denise Boutte) whop are wanting a return to their glorious past and start a rampage through the city. Gathering a crew to face the vampire, Van Helsing launches an assault on the vampire hideout. The Good News: There wasn't a whole lot to this film that was really stand-out. The gore here is really the best part, and it's quite bloody at times. There's some nice looking ripped throats, the traditional neck bites, and some blood splatter sprayed around on the walls pretty liberally at the end. There's a little more blood in here as well, so it certainly will apply for gore-hounds looking for a little thrill. The action is pretty decent, especially the concluding fight but it never rises above decent. That's the general feel for the whole film, as it really didn't impress me all that much. The Bad News: Overall, this wasn't all that spectacular, even when it did make an impression. The film practically grinds to a halt when the series of Van Helsing training the vampire hunters in montage, which really destroys the momentum gathered up to that point. It's hardly ever a good idea to do such a move in a movie, and this one proves it. But those are the only real factors that strike against this one. It just didn't do anything for me.The Final Verdict: A hard movie to really latch onto, as it didn't do much at all for me, but was decent nonetheless. If you're vampire fans, there's worse ones out there, but if you're not a real hardcore fan of the genre and it's offerings, then exercise with extreme caution with this one.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Nudity and repeatedly coming back to the same sex scene
