The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Smoreni Zmaj
At the very top of Serbian cinema. In my opinion, only "Lepa sela lepo gore" can compete with "Angels". Of course, I'm talking about Serbian, not Yugoslav film. Movies made from World War II until the breakup of Yugoslavia are completely different category and I think that these two periods can not be ranked together at all.10/10

This is one of the cult Serbian movies. Despite some people having emotional outbursts of hatred towards everything about this movie,it's a great movie. Srdjan Todorovic,as a drummer for Ekatarina Velika (the best Serbian rock band of all time),and an actor in many movies and TV shows has shown that he is extremely talented, contrary to some statements. Uros Djuric has actually done pretty well, considered that he's a painter, not an actor,so a mix of talents did pretty well. Nikola Kojo, one of the best Serbian actors, was simply brilliant in this movie. His non-emotion standing in this movie gave it the flavour it needed to rise as one of the best Serbian movies ever. A great movie, and a cool comedy! As I said,a cult movie of a generation!

This is probably the funniest comedy ever made in Serbia. Not a minute passes without a laugh, and citations from this movie are still actual all across Serbia. I am not sure how much not knowing the language (Serbian) would affect the joy of watching the movie, but I'm sure that it's worth a try. I've seen it for the 4th time a few days ago, and I feel it will never become boring. Off course, it is intended to amuse you and nothing more, but it does a great job. Most of the best Serbian actors of the decade were involved in making it, and some become popular thanks to this film. By the way, there is a mini-TV series made by adding up more material, but as far as I know it was only on TV once. There are two sequels as well; part two is very funny but not as original as this one, and part three was made with intention of making something different, and (I think) quite successfully.

Do you know that feeling when you watch some film, you immediately fall in love with it's imaginary world, you start to identify with every character? Well, that's what happens when you see 'The Angels' for the first, second and every next time! Cute story told in a brilliant way,it's full of charming Belgrade's sense of humor that has been in zenith in early 90's.Central characters are The Angel and The Devil, competing about Nikola, a twenty-and-something womanizing student of the world literature, a city's wise-guy whose cozy way of life is being roughly interrupted by impregnating Marina, a clumsy high school graduate at a party, who wants to keep the baby, while Nikola believes it's not necessary. Generations in Serbia knows to tell this film by heart, and I highly recommend it to anyone abroad because it's a great way of meeting and understanding Yugoslav pop culture. It also has an outstanding soundtrack. Recommended for whoever is sick and tired with shallow Hollywood teen comedies that are overwhelming our Space and Time nowadays!
