How sad is this?

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Adrian Brody is trapped (1960's car?) at the bottom of a ravine. His face is streamed with blood. His nose is broke and his right eye is swollen. His leg is trapped under the dash. He has 2 dead friends with him, one has a wallet. His name is George. Brody apparently isn't carrying ID. The window is busted out so he can drink rainwater. The door is jammed. Over time he hallucinates about a woman who seems to want to help him. He discovers a revolver with discharged shells on the driver's side. His memory is in disarray. After several days, Adrian manages to free himself. The film is about is journey to safety.Adrian Brody plays the role well. The movie is interesting, but not overly entertaining. The twist is fine, but this should be an "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and not a 90 minute feature.F-bomb. No sex, no nudity.

This movie was interesting in it's premise and it holds your attention. Adrien Brody's acting is great as usual. He wakes up trapped in a car wreck down a ravine in the forest and doesn't remember who he is. We see his attempts to free himself, figure out who he is, and try to survive. There are certain things that take place like the repeated appearance of a girl and at other times, a dog. He sees a mountain lion take the other two victims of the car crash who are dead, and this is real, but the girl is not and the dog may or may not be real. You think all this will be made clear at the end, but alas, it is not. It's a shame the movie did not make sense at the end. A lot of parts (like the girl and the dog) were left unanswered. It does not tie together or evoke any emotion at the end. What a disappointment!

Wrecked is a quite short film which not much at location and much happening. It is very precise in plot as we see how the lead (Adrien Brody) has to survive from suffering a fatal car crash. Throughout some of the scenes we see how it happened (mostly towards the ending). The film is comparable to 127 Hours and Buried but I didn't feel it isn't as good as those two.The first half of the film was engaging as the audience was interesting in his character and wanted to see where the film was going. It hit it's peak when a woman was brought in and was there to help him. What I disliked most about it is, the woman was not used much, he did not asked many questions as to why she came, and what she was going to do to help. Their was no development and this let the film crumble. Also do not understand why he went out his way and do harm to her. Perhaps he was crazy? After she left, I felt the film really suffered and dragged on. The acting was a little overreacted on Brody's part and I didn't care for his character much late on it the film. Also had a predictable ending. We knew he was going to make it out but they could have done much more with it. Also the trailer on the front page reveals a lot. Would be better not watching it before watching the film.

Mr. Brody is a fine actor, and we always enjoy seeing him in action. His name was the main reason we decided to watch this disappointing film. We realize that actors look forward to, and relish a role that allows them the opportunity to cut loose and gnash their teeth and in this film, Mr. Brody does a lot of tooth gnashing. He wakes up trapped in a wrecked car in a forest. Obviously he has no idea where he is and he is in great pain. Eventually he realizes that two dead men occupy the rear seat, and there is no driver. In one of the few lines in the film, he speaks, indicating that he doesn't know who he is. This is almost another "The Jacket", but "The Jacket" had a point. Writhing with this man (we never know his name and neither does he),for an hour and half of suffering and fevered hallucinations proved to be too excruciating (for us). We had to keep hitting the fast forward button, hoping for something to happen. From the disc cover we had the impression that he awakes to find not only guns but money. Since the driver was not in the wrecked vehicle, we expected him to return, perhaps with henchmen, to reclaim the money and create some mayhem, but unfortunately nothing like that ever happens. In fact nothing at all happens save for a few brief hallucinations that contribute nothing to this tale, until finally, only at the very last minute — in a hopelessly contrived scene of recovering memory — we get the barest glimpse of who this man may have been and how he got into this sorry situation; the end. Like the punch line at the end of a long bad joke, this leaves you with your mouth open, saying: "And...you mean that's it?"
