One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

The movie opens in 1974 in our favorite Wrong Turn location: West Virginia. A doctor is giving a new female doctor a tour and introduces the three inbred hillbilly cannibals. They don't feel pain. When they were discovered they were chewing on their parents. Their escape is inevitable (it would be a short film if they stayed locked up). And in classic horror movie form the inmates become the keepers. The battle for the sanitarium is done in style, to the background of classical music ("The Blue Danube"), reminiscent of the violence scenes in "Clockwork Orange." They ironically perform electroshock therapy on the woman doctor (Kristen Harris) who wanted to use "music therapy" on them. I'm loving it. (Okay "The Blue Danube" was in "2001..." and not "Clockwork Orange", but I think you get the idea.) Terrific blood and gore. Hillbilly cannibals are jumping around and grunting like a Monthy Python Mr. Gumby brain specialist, looking like demented Klingons. And this is all before the opening credits! After the credits, the movie starts out ala Roger Corman style with a nude scene to set the tone for the picture. There are 4 people having sex and one girl not having sex. According to the unwritten slasher code of horror movies the 4 having sex must die and the lone girl who didn't show us her tatas will survive the upcoming snow mobile adventure. But to make this thing interesting there are 8-9 young adults total. If you have read the story line, you know they lose their way and spend the night at the abandoned sanitarium. The kids get drunk and stoned as they explore the place and read medical records for entertainment. You wait for it...and then it is just a question of who lives or who becomes fondue. The movie offers "Troma" style blood and gore as they remove various body parts. I found it better than the other 3 movies.F-bomb, sex, nudity (Kaitlyn Wong, Tenika Davis, Terra Vnesa) 5 stars "B" movie.

This movie is awful. Wrong Turn is a good movie. Wrong Turn 2 is a good movie. Wrong 3 is an awful movie. And this is worse. This movie has an awful story line. It is not scary at all. The ending is awful. 4.6 is overrating this movie. This is not a 4.6. This is a 1. This is one of the worst horror movies from 2011. This movie stinks. Do not see it. Do not was your money. And do not waste your time. Do not see this movie. If you want to see a good horror movie see the first movie of Wrong turn or see Wrong turn 2. Do not see this movie. There are a lot of good horror movies out there and this is not one of them. Do not see this movie. It is awful.

Not sure why the movie is called Bloody Begins. Unless I missed something, the movie is not a prequel to the first, and this family of inbreeds that are the feature slashers in all the films are not consistent enough for anyone to notice the ones in this movie are different from the ones in the others. A group of kids on a ski trip make a Wrong Turn heading for their cabin to an abandoned insane asylum were three of the mutant inbreed kids from the last three films were being held until they "liberated" the patients.Own its own, Bloody beginnings is a pretty good horror flick with some gory slow deaths and a lot of hot girls being chased by the inbreeds. Plus some really interesting kills that make you laugh out "oh snap" even though you see them coming. As part of the franchise, part four was better than part three and like all of them, it did bring something unique to the slasher movie genre. The victims never seem as helpless as in other slasher films. Not as many "don't go into that room" situations. It's everything you hope you would be if the situation came up (though I'm not stupid enough to take a Wrong Turn into the woods). This is what I love about the franchise as a whole. Plus the action picks up as the film progress.Thumbs up!

No, seriously, I only found out I'd watched a prequel when I looked it up on the internet after sitting through the film. So, that would explain why it's an 'origin' story of those three inbred hillbillies. Basically, they escaped from a secure institution and went on to kill people. That's the backstory. Did they really need to stretch it into an hour and a half? A group of teenagers - the girls all enormously attractive, wearing tight-fitting tops - and the boys all sporting mock-Justin Bieber haircuts - all go on a skiing trip, but end up in a old asylum (does it really matter why?). Then, after spending the night loudly partying and fondling each other, they discover the hillbillies are in there. You can probably guess what happens next.Yes, there's some decent gore, but it's extreme gore in place of a story or characters. Seriously, this is one of those films where you're on the baddies' side. The teens are so obnoxious you'll be cheering when they're offed one by one - possibly payback for their lousy acting? The original 'Wrong Turn' movie was a nice little horror gem. However, as we sit here with number 4, it's really just wringing as much money as you can out of a name. This felt like it could have been called anything - it's the ultimate generic horror/slasher film. No, it's not terrible, but I sat through it with a sense that I couldn't care about anything in it because I'd seen it all before...better.http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/
