Perhaps it's our inability to lay to rest the theories concerning our country's Presidential assassinations. Perhaps it's our growing fascination with government plots, which explain why we have so many conspiracies films. Whatever the reason, here is yet another movie which deals with the killing of the U.S. President. In this story which apparently played on T.V. first, we are witness to the assignation of a U.S. president. Ross Tanner (Stephen Dorff) the alleged assassin, escapes, but is badly wounded in the process. Thereafter, he is pursued by the F.B.I, secret service, military officials and nearly anyone who can carry a gun. Unable to remember his identify, Ross stays one step ahead of everyone. In the meanwhile, the audience is subjected to a Cat and Mouse game, but is not privy to know which cat or Mouse is his friend or foe. The entire film is one dark dangerous, action filled ride with Tanner in the cross hairs all the time. A treat for movie fans as we discover that good guy Val Kilmer plays the heavy and is so menacing we believe the hero is over matched. With Stephen McHattie, Lucinda Davis, Jonathan Higgins and Jessalyn Gilsig, playing government officials, it's mind-boggling trying to keep the two sides separated. As a result, this movie will provide audiences with enough excitement, action and black mystery, to rattle the brain. A good film which may yet earn top honors as a terrific Conspiracy movie. ****

Definitely Jason Bourne + Shooter. Maybe they should've called it "The Bourne Conspiracy"? They even use the same music FFS! So apart from ripping off two excellent movies to make this hotch-potch, they didn't even get a decent dialogue coach. After 1 hour 15 minutes, Jessalyn Gilsig starts explaining exactly what's been happening, what happened to the guy and how he's got to where he is, but she whispers it and mumbles it! Why don't director's get these useless actors/actresses to do the scene again so we can hear what the hell she is supposed to be saying?Overall, well worth watching, but it could've been so much better.

I grew up with this Graphic Novel, waiting year after year what new twists they found to make the plot believable and continuing. As someone mentioned correctly, you can't expect to see everything of the novel in a short mini series. So the differences between the original and the movie did not disturb me, though most of the time the original novel is better. Why disappointed? The acting, the script,.. I might say the lack of money. Even the action scenes are terrible. About the actors, it is not only they perform without conviction (for that I blame the script), but they are also miscast.Lt Jones is supposed to be a strong, beautiful, sportive, young afro-American woman, not the person we see here. The same goes for Ben Carrington. I cannot believe they chose this actor for this part. Who believes that long ago he was a war hero?A great chance is, once more, missed to adapt a magnificent graphic novel to the screen.

This plot is more true to life than you may know. At the end of part two there is mention of a "need for a crisis" to move the American people. Check out the documentary "Terrorstorm", it shows a similar document, written by Dick Cheney, calling for the need of "a Pearl Harbor type crisis" to move the American people to get behind a war with Iraq......this memo was written in "January" 2001! Makes you think huh?The Republican desire to restart war with Iraq was being planned long before 9/11, they just needed a way to sell it to the American people. Why do you think that despite all of the evidence that our government was warned about 9/11, that no one lifted a finger to stop it?? Hmmmmmm.....
