Reviews

StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Kodie Bird True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Phil Hubbs Talk about frenzy, this film is completely screwball crazy with guns and explosions on top! Quite literately a frenetic manga adaptation which is balls to the wall with massive fights, lopped off body parts and fountains of blood. Its Japanese and you do expect this but even this is insane, the plot isn't too complex and basically revolves around a Yakuza assassin getting vengeance against the killing of his gang boss father. There is double cross in there too but this film is really all about the crazy ass effects and shock value gore. The cost doesn't look too high as much of the effects on show are your basic old techniques which range from looking effective to down right silly but this isn't really suppose to be more than a fun low budget B-movie.Add in some outrageous CGI when 'Shozo' gets his arm replaced with a mini-gun and his knee turned into a rocket launcher (yep you read correctly) and you get some really quite daft looking results. Tonnes of carnage and a never ending stream of henchmen, both fun and stupid. The only cast member I know of is good old Tak Sakaguchi and here he plays the main role, it suits him well and he looks good with his little porkpie type hat on. The whole film swings from slick and cool to down right ludicrous and will only appeal to people who like these type of Japanese ultra violent comicbook films. Personally I think the original manga comic probably works better, I haven't read or seen it but clearly its something that's hard to translate to film (bit Like 'Tank Girl').5/10
trashgang When in Europe the label Shock started to release Japanese and Asian flicks everybody was looking forward, because it was hard to lay your hands on such kind of flicks. But soon people start to worry about the releases coming from that label. In the beginning it was okay and it contained the typical gore but nowadays they only release trash.I was looking forward to see Gokudo Heiki but from the start you know this is going to suck hard. There's blood sputtering and there are actual killings going on but it's the way it was acted and the cheap CGI that makes it not watchable for me. I don't have problems with those kind of flicks but this one here left me sitting with an open mouth. What the hell is happening to those flicks coming from the rising sun and were known for their extremities. I have heard that so many people has left shock for what it is and I must agree with them. It do has a few good moments but overall it takes too long and exaggerate on part of the acting. Sad but true.Gore 1/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 1,5/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
KineticSeoul This is one of those Japanese movies that is so bad it's good or passable or so bad that it's awful. In this case it's alright. Sure the CGI and action scenes look so fake but it's not distracting for a movie like this and adds to the humor of it all. The fight choreography is designed by the team that did "Versus" which isn't really a good movie but a passable one as well. Everything about this movie is just plain wacky and cartoon like and to a degree it works. But the makers of this flick knows what direction it's trying to go. And it's a far from serious one. It's obvious they just mixed in their wacky vision with a shoe string budget. And to some degree it's amusing and that is what this flick is. It's a amusing action packed violent flick. Just when some parts seem predictable it goes in a amusing wacky direction that is humorous. Even the action is unpredictable and has shock factor to it. The protagonist is likable for a selfish conceited obnoxious yakuza as well and is a badass. And the guy can take a beating and when I say beating means can take a hit from a RPG. And his sidekicks are likable as well. Overall if you like movies like "Machine Girl" and such with bunch of wacky scenarios that doesn't make much sense and a lot of violent action that is over the top. You just might enjoy this one. I didn't have much expectation for this flick but my enjoyment factor elevated as the movie progressed.8/10
Bthomas68 I love Asian gore films. Sillier the better ( Versus )( Machine Girl ) etc. Even some Meatball Machine. The movie actually kinda shines. Doesn't get overboard goofy without reason. Movie is silly, but plausible. SFX are pretty damned good considering everything they're blowing up. Fun, full of action, couples bitching, Shozo has a lot deal with. I'm not sure what to talk about since there isn't a strong based plot. Shozo does have a great "Yellin" at voice. Nothing else to say. Guys will like it. Their girls couldn't care less. So i'll keep typing slow until I can post this review. My first review and I got nothing more to say.
