Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Beystiman It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
ananda-15947 Ajith's Best of all time.........He will surely blow u away as a cop,Lover,father,friend............. A perfect recognition for Arun (as an antagonist ).......... Gautam's screenplay as always don't let u down............... Anushka's charming & Trisha's matured carrier best performance will definitely steel the show............. The little girls bond with Ajith will Marjory feel............... The in & out fear feeling with really emerged performance.................. The Harris ,Thamarai & Gautams combo is back with a bang............. Once again proved that Gautam is Master in narrating characters...Wheather it is Jessy,Aradhana Or Hemanika & Villains like Pandiyan,Amuthan or Victor...He simply nails it....I can give 10/10 for the carrier best performance by all the cast.........U can Simply wait for the second part ........Don't give a skip if u are a true Thriller Lover.....
Kishore Mahalingam Basically started to watch this movie as a critic, ended up as a fan. As mentioned above harmony is achieved between action and emotions. A typical Gautham movie. Another day in the life of an honest cop. Cinematography brilliance, mature script and screenplay. Ajith's acting at its best. Though the transformation over a period of time is a bit unsound, Gautham has managed it well. A second innings in Arun Vijay's acting career, with a much fitter body compared to the lead, Arun lures the audience towards his character. Better chemistry is seen between Arun and Parvathi compared to Ajith-Trisha or Ajith-Anushka. An almost open ending, making possibilities for part2. Songs are average. to sum up, Father-son emotion, Gangster fights, Cop dialogue, Romance, Disappointments in life, Soul Searching and profane language.
Monish Nair The usual mix of love, action and police uniforms which you can expect in a Gautham Vasudev Menon movie. Still he maintains the magical touch which makes a good movie an awesome movie.Ajith as usual has given his best. Really an entertainer at his best. #Thala is always Thala.Arun Vijay, an actor who never made his ground, this will surely be a game changer for him. The first notable work I have seen from him. Very good performance.Movie is a 10/10 with everything which is required to make the audience more than satisfied.Cheers to the YA Team!
viswa23696 I was bunking the college and went with my friend to watch the film..there i saw total students of my class bunking the classes and coming to enjoy...firstly,all the credit goes to Gautham Vasudev Menon for making such a good movie after a disastrous last outing...though this movie has some resemblances of his earlier movies,he has neatly packaged this movie with a subtle amount of emotions...the casting was good, plot was good, but the screenplay was a bit slower, especially in the 1st half, where he uses his prime point-romance play a major role in it...the second half was pacey, but resembled VA,VV and KK but it was good to see Ajith in such role...Ajith as Sathyadev has truly justified his place in the industry by choosing such a role...He has truly obeyed Gautham's narration and the performance justify it.He may not be the next superstar or next kamalhassan, but ajith will be always unique as THALA..the two leading ladies also deserve a special mention as they did true justification to their roles...The one who deserves and wins special mention other than Ajith is Arun Vijay...he has truly done a commendable job as victor and his physique was outstanding...Dan MacArthur truly deserves a special appreciation for his superb camera work, his beautiful portrayal of Trisha in MAYA BAZAAR song and the serene of Jaipur,Sikkim etc...Harris Jayaraj, after a long break with GVM,once again rocks with a high voltage background score and scores applause when he scores it for ajith...If a movie earns applause and whistles for the use of foul languages,it is Yennai Arindhaal..Verdict:performances of leads, pulsating background music with a subtle humor makes Yennai Arindhaal worth a watch... Rating:3.5/5
