SoTrumpBelieve Must See Movie...
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Gypsi Bates Deven Yuvvraaj (Salman Khan) is in love with Anushka (Katrina Kaif), but her father (Boman Irani) refuses to allow the match. When Deven's estranged father dies leaving a fortune, Deven is sure that he will inherit and be able to marry Anushka. However, his father disinherits both Deven and his younger brother Danny (Zayed Khan), in favor of their mentally challenged elder brother Gyanesh (Anil Kapoor). Deven and Danny then become tentative partners in a game to scam Gyanesh out of the money. In this family drama, the plot is mostly good, with uneven bits. Both Khan's give credible, if not exceptional, performances. Kapoor's performance is hindered by his part; his character is depicted as only very little resembling the autistic savant he is supposed to be, seeming at times to be fully functioning and at other times as challenged. This really lessened Kapoor's sometimes strong performance, as well as the movie in general. The songs are generally lovely, and the costumes--particularly in the musical numbers--are extravagant and impressive. Overall, it's a visually pleasing film with a positive message, but only mediocre otherwise.
Super Star Terrible Movie!!! A waste of my precious 3 hrs that I could have spent STUDYING!!!!Gosh,,, I hv nooooo words to express this stupid movie... FIRST and foremost I hv to express my disgust AGAIN towards Bollywood for literally RIPPING OFF the Hollywood movie RAINMAN!!!!! Seriously Bollywood guys, be original for ONCE!!! try to maintain ur identity and stop stealing stories from others.. Now to the actors.. Salman Khan: was once again DREADFUL playing his character... he OVERACTS WAYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! Anil Kapoor: his character was autistic...THERE WERE NOOOOOO SIGNS OF AUTISM!!! he was able to speak intelligibly and express EMOTIONS!! Damn... first AUTISTIC MIRACLE!!! I'm now going to speak about two actors at once because I don't feel like tiring my fingers in typing too much... ZAYED AND KATRINA: THESE two people can't act to save their LIVES>>>>> please quit.. u're an Embarrassment to the INDUSTRY>.. along with TUSHAR Kapoor and a few others.. and for God sake, Katrina cant SPEAK Hindi... just go back to wherever u came from... Anyway... just want to say... this movie was DREADFULLY BAD.. and that about covers it all...
sumanbarthakursmailbox Katrina Kaif looks lovely and makes an earnest attempt in the acting department too in a film like this, that's plenty effort.Yuvvraaj uses scale and grandeur to compensate for the fractured script, but as Ghai's own films Kisna and Yaadein will tell you no amount of ambition and passion can hide poor writing. The characters are all underdeveloped - from the protagonists who have no layers, no edge whatsoever, to the supporting players who are all silly caricatures. The dialogue is a mix of clunky lines that make you cringe in embarrassment, and a bunch of unintentionally hilarious gems that will make you laugh every time you think of the film. And then there's Anil Kapoor whose character I had difficulty understanding - was he autistic, was he blind, did he have arthritis? I never did get it in the end because of the strange mannerisms and quirks Anil brought to his performance. And yet, it's the only performance in the film where some competence is visible. Ghai spares no efforts in giving Yuvvraaj a fancy feel, there's pleasing photography and spunky choreography on display, but AR Rahman's soundtrack throws up only three good tracks which is a shame considering the film's designed as a musical. Yuvvraaj doesn't quite hit the right note because it's an archaic drama that feels too tired. Barring a handful of vintage Subhash Ghai moments that still work, the film sadly is far from his best work. There was a slim chance the film might not have hurt this bad if the acting was any better, but to think the stars of this film were paid crores of rupees to put up this show makes you realise that indeed life is unfair. Salman Khan does pretty much as he pleases, walking in and out of scenes as if he were at home, never mindful of the fact that he's playing a character here and that some consistency in performance is expected of him. He just about scrapes through the comedy with a few light moments, but completely fails to touch your heart in the film's emotional scenes.
virindra I bought this movie because Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan are in this movie, they both are great actors. I did not know why Salman Khan was in this movie. Salman Khan is not at the acting level like Anil and Zayed. Therefore I really think Salman was a miscast for this movie. Don't get me wrong, Salman Khan turned out to be great in movies like Kyon Ki... 2005) and Tere Naam (2003)where he plays a retarded man. He's suited to play the roles of psycho characters. Salman Khan still wants to be the macho man. His so-called little jokes how he moves his arms when he tells he's going to fly the airplane, aren't funny.Fortunately Katrina Kaif wasn't that horrible like she has been in her previous movies. Yes, she was a little bit annoying, but she is in an improving phase when it comes to acting.Zayed Khan was amazing. When I bought Main Hoon na on DVD I doubted this new guy whether he could act or not. This man did not disappoint me. The way he acted, shows that he improved in a short time, to be a greater actor than Salman Khan. The way Zayed looks at himself in the mirror and is disgusted by what he sees, shows how this man can act without words, just by his facial expressions. Wonderful! Last, but not least, the king of Bollywood; Anil Kapoor. What a wonderful actor! What a great performance. This man amazed me with his acting from when I was just a little boy. Movies like Karma, Parinda, Lamhe, Armaan and so many more. This man is a natural born actor. The way he plays his mentally ill character is outstanding! He plays his role with so much skills. I got moved by his acting. The movie got to a climax till the end, Anil Kapoor brings this movie to the higher climax. The way how Boman Irani kills this climax is disappointing.Boman Irani plays the father in law-to be of Salman Khan. He is also a doctor. At the end where he plays a tune is terrible! A serious doctor doesn't behave like that. Boman Irani is a miscast in this movie. I would like to have seen Anupam Kher in this role. Anupam and Anil both showed to be great in the movie Karma.I also liked the music in this film. It is a pity that the one beautiful music is played over and over again, but just in a different way. But it still is good music. The singer who sings the part that Anil Kapoor acts is very good. Not every singer can sing like that. All my credits goes to Anil Kapoor, at the end of the movie I would have given Anil Kapoor a standing ovation, if it wasn't for Boman Irani to kill my mood.
