Plantiana Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
Diagonaldi Very well executed
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
joshcardinal-08123 I'm an adult but I get songs from this movie stuck in my head allllll the time. As a kid I wanted to dress and act just like Zenon and live in Space and honestly it sucks that we don't? Anyway, great kids movie for all ages, good message without being saccharine, this is my favorite DCOM ever.
[email protected] As a parent I had no expectations for myself, but my young daughter loves the movie. We need more family movies that don't push any adult topics, so the previous commenter must not have kids, if he doesn't understand this basic idea.
MovieAddict2016 "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century"I was persuaded to watch this television program one Friday night on late TV when nothing else was on. I figured it might be a pleasant surprise. It's a "Disney Channel Original Movie," meaning it is made just for the television station "The Disney Channel."My first impression upon the end of this film was this: "Wow, that's one bad movie!"Zenon Kar (Kirsten Storms) is a pre-teen living in the near future out in space. Of course, in the future everyone lives in space stations in space, conveniently overlooking "Planet Earth." When she runs afoul of Parker Windom, the owner of the station, Zenon is determined to be "incorrigible", and as punishment is exiled to the worst place imaginable: The planet earth. After several painful weeks of adjustment to her new surroundings, Zenon enlists the aid of her earthbound pals to return to her "real" home with evidence that the "respectable" Mr. Windom is up to no good. This movie is stinky. Laughably bad. It smells all over. Not only is Kirsten Storms an annoying little actress, but her one-liners are a "major," as she so fondly spits, "drag."I don't find the humor in this movie funny at all. In fact, to call it humor is to call "Se7ven" the funniest film of the year. The film execs that "OK"'d this one should be slopping burgers up at a McDonald's somewhere, because not only is this film mentally ignorant to adults, but to children as well. It doesn't show the audience any respect whatsoever. Now, you may think I'm going a bit over the top. After all, this is a kid's movie, right? Well, let me put it this way. There are good kids' movies and bad kids' movies. To name some recent family films that are excellent: "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc."; those are good family films. They are clean, and at the same time show respect for the audience members of all ages."Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century" shows neither. So, am I underrating this movie too much? I don't think so. I don't require that all family films be as good as films like "Toy Story," but I require them to be at least slightly entertaining. "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century" is as intellectually-insulting as they come.1/5 stars -John Ulmer
dgpowell-3 Have you ever seen a futuristic sci-fi movie that adjusted the language of its characters to reflect what words/phrases people might be using in the next generation or two? This imaginative Disney movie does just that. Kirsten Storms is wonderful as the main character, Zenon. And kudos to those resposible for the cool wardrobe.
