NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Bereamic Awesome Movie
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
rodneyaltam This is one of the most excellent TV series ever. My comment might contain spoilers for people who haven't seen the show. You have been warned! The only thing I can say there is no dull moment when it comes to this show. And every turn the plot deepens. A very nice and well laid out plot.Ten stars for the writer and all the production people. NICE WORK!
Je re My disappointment may be partly due to watching on a TV rather than my projector which packed up. Much more impact on a big screen, so I recommend one. I got hooked and bought all the other series on DVD, and now this the latest. And had high hopes.People's high score may be skewed by existing fans being most drawn to watch and score. It wasn't available on the main channels here in the UK. Only Sky - and then on DVD.The main weakness is the plot repetition. We've had the override device before. We've also had Jack being taken away at the end of the series ... that was REALLY predictable. Thankfully the family-peril cliché wasn't used this time. No sign of Kim. Only one "running out of time" from Jack that I noticed. And nobody said "I understand" that I noticed. Everyone understands in the other series! Its the most sticking out over-used phrase for me.I didn't experience any kind of bonding with Jack's sidekick. Not clear who and why he was there. Very underdeveloped.Jack himself has clearly aged. The character's cleverness and thinking ability less used in this series. Helpful clues just appear on cue. He's not a good role model. He murders people. He threatens to kill people on his own side... a piece of Neanderthal strutting they always accept... and back down to. Domestic abusers might relate to that behavior but I don't. He gets angry and becomes even more of a killing machine. Another device we've had before. In reality the anger would more likely lead to him making a mistake.Whilst, yes, its a must watch for any 24 fan. It isn't one of the best 24 series. New viewers might be better starting with the earlier series. The best bit for me was the short "Solitary" bit on the DVD extras with Tony Almeida hinting at his return in the future.
Tss5078 3 years after the event in New York, Jack Bauer has come out of hiding in London, when he learns of a plot to kill the United States President. Live Another Day appears to be a one shot deal, but as we've seen, the shows popularity means there is always a chance it will pop up again. While Fox has said nothing about the future of the show, Live Another Day did average over 10 million viewers an episode. As I do, I'm sure those fans are hoping that number leads to either the series coming back, a feature film, or simply more mini-series. It's hard to imagine 24 taking place in another country and in just 12 episodes, but it didn't matter one bit, because of Kiefer Sutherland. The often criticized actor has found the Midis touch when it comes to Jack Bauer. I mean seriously, have you ever heard of a show that can completely change cast and location every season and still manage to survive? The cast, the location, even the date doesn't matter, because it has been and always will be about Jack Bauer. In a strange twist, as kind of a thank you to the fans, many characters from previous seasons have returned for the mini-series, and it only made it that much more enjoyable. Live Another Day features the same Jack, who really hasn't lost a step. It also comes with everything you came to expect from 8 seasons of the hit show. Live Another Day may only have been half as long as the other seasons, but it rivals every single one of them. If you're a fan or even a casual viewer of the show, give yourself a treat and sit down for 12 new episodes of this timeless television classic!
Malcolm Stewart *CONTAINS VERY MILD SPOILER*Its 24 alright! Unfortunately the reason 24 had to end was they covered it all, each story went the same way, just the guts that were different. This is no different, a plot, followed by it being foiled followed by an inside man nobody saw coming creating a new threat. I did tick spoiler alert but if you've ever seen any episode of 24 ever, you'd know this was coming anyway.Chloe is more annoying than ever, I was very disappointed to hear she was coming back, she has the acting potential of a lemon. The tech talk is back in full swing, leaving anyone with even a modicum of computer savvy embarrassed to listen to.The good news, I suppose, is its more of the same, if you enjoyed the old 24 you basically have it back (albeit half the episodes) and if you don't take it too seriously it'll be an enjoyable show to watch, certainly one of the better ones floating around at the moment.
