It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

End of second season was just frustrating. Ended without conclusion. The characters of the orphans became just annoying. Realise that they just whine and don't actually do much to help those that die. The characters were the "victims" again. Could've fast forwarded to the end

I love this show. I really do. Pros and cons time!Count Olaf! I'm sorry... Pros. Count Olaf! The most entertaining character in the whole frigging show. He's played so well, and you end up rooting for him in a backwards kind of way, if only to see what he does next.Secondly it follows the syntax of the original books really well. It's a small thing, really, but is a nice touch to have the dialogue phrased like it would be if it was read straight from the book. Nice homage to the original books. The art style is spot on, exactly like it is from the original books. everything has a strange, Burton-esque slant to it, like out of a cartoon, and it never looks quite right. This sounds bad, but it only lends to the atmosphere of the whole show.I could go on, but on to the cons.Ok, first off, don't expect to come across many intelligent adults while watching this. Excluding Count Olaf and a few VFD agents (who die later in the series anyway) every adult that exists appears to have some sort of mental deficiency. It's like they regressed to the intellectual capacity of a lizard. Issue is that it is a necessary evil, as that was how it was written in the books. Every adult in the books was a complete moron in some facet or another, and in order to preserve the atmosphere of the book that needed to stick.Second of all, two words. Carmelita Spats. You will want to put this infuriating little beast in the darkest pits of the nether realm within 3.5 milliseconds of the first syllable that she utters, and only after flattening her to the approximate size and shape of a hubcap with an ice-cream scoop. You have been warned.Other than that, yeah, Excellent show, 10/10, would recommend to anyone.

Love this series with my 6 and 4 year old. Keeps all of us entertained. I sometimes want to press pause to see all the details of the sets they have. And NPH is amazing.

I made it to season 2 episode 2 and I can't watch anymore. Lets start with the acting, overall very good but It sometimes felt as if the person behind the camera was telling them to act so over the top that they are no humans anymore. This can work as the show is clearly go for over the top character but when "over the top" is there only character trait it kind of lose the personality of the character a little. The cinematography and editing was awesome in the show, the way a place the angle of the camera. It never over does the editing technique and work with the films visuals. So on to the biggest problem with the film is how boring it is, the idea of a secret organisations through teenage/children eyes is cool but every episode is the same. Children get moved, Olaf finds them and watch disguise, they find out, show it to be Olaf and move to the next place. Yes, you do start to learn a few thing here and there but in the first 8 episode (season 1) you hardly anything but the end of it. In 10 episode I don't know why Olaf want them, just money but There a another family with money that he gets so? The story really lets the show down and I have a feeling that this is because of the amount of episode that they have to fill, 8 episode in season 1 and10 episode in season 2.
