Synopsis

Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television which aired from 1994 to 1995, based on the original 1992 feature. It was animated at the Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand. Coming on the heels of the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar, the series picked up where that installment left off, with Aladdin now living in the palace, engaged to beautiful and spunky Princess Jasmine. "Al" and Jasmine went together into peril among sorcerers, monsters, thieves, and more. Monkey sidekick Abu, the animated Magic Carpet, and the fast-talking, shape-shifting Genie came along to help, as did sassy, complaining parrot Iago, formerly Jafar’s pet but now an antihero. Jafar, having previously been destroyed in the second movie, returns in only one episode which also serves as a crossover with Hercules: The Animated Series.

Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
buddhadan-1 Please allow me to preface my review of the Aladdin series with my view of the movie.I loved it, just as I love most animated Disney movies to date. The animation was awesome, the characters full, the story is detailed and the humor is evident in most of the movie.I truly wish that I could say the same for the Aladdin series.I feel that the series, just as Disney does with their direct to DVD movies, was a severe let down. Since it's Disney, this let down isn't as bad as if it had been just about any other group, but it is still sad.The animation is average for Disney, the stories are standard Saturday morning fare, and the characters haven't really changed much. Since it's Disney, I have higher expectations and regretfully the series didn't quite meet those. On it's own, it's a cartoon series that is slightly above average, with detailed fun characters and stories that keep you enthralled.I just wish that they would put the same effort into their series that they do for their theatrical releases, then we can truly say that they are living up to their original quality work.
Seth Nelson Haven't you had enough "Aladdin" already????? No? Good!!!!! Let's begin!!!!!1994 was so successful for Disney that, because of the success of the "Aladdin" film, they came out not only with the first video-only movie/sequel ("The Return of Jafar"), but like what they have done with "The Little Mermaid," they have done the same with "Aladdin," and it became a Disney Afternoon cartoon. In it, there are more adventures with Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago (now a good character), Abu, Carpet, and let's not forget the Genie!!!!! Also, there are new villains, new places, new stories, and a whole lot more!!!!! What's great about this show is that Aladdin's adventures didn't end in the movie!!!!!"Aladdin: The Series" is awesome!!!!!10/10
TVSeriesFTW Having grown up with the Swedish dubbed version of Aladdin, I had no problem with the fact that Robin Williams didn't voice the Genie in the series. What I had a problem with was that the insane jokes weren't nearly up to the quality of the original movie. The plot line was nothing you cared about in this show, it was all about how many gags the sidekicks (Abu, Yago and The Genie) could crack during each episode. Aladdin and Jasmine almost became secondary characters because they were so 2 dimensional and flat. So, while some jokes were hilarious, there really was nothing outstanding about this show. Of course, it could've been worse (read: The "Doug" TV series).
maxvaughn This show had semi-good animation for what it was, but that was not what drew me in as a kid. The plot lines and dialogue were witty and action grabbing. The villains were possibly the best on TV at the time. Mozenrath was the greatest! Something I especially enjoyed were the little things thrown in from other movies or TV shows of that same genre. For example, there was an episode about the Blue Rose of Forgetfullness, which is an item from a movie called "The Thief of Bagdad". (By the way, if you watch "Thief of Bagdad", you'll see where Disney got most of their name ideas and character designs for the first Aladdin movie). Even though it's sort of a sad thing to admit, but when I was ten I ran home everyday to see this show. One of the things I liked the most was that every character was included at some point. Even the Sultan had a chance to be a hero every now and again.
