Sorry, this movie sucks
Doomtomylo
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Simply amazing, from the second I turned it on to the last episode (after which I didn't know what to do with myself) I literally couldn't stop watching. I needed up staying up til 3am watching its immense. Such a strong female lead with so many twists and turns. A show perfectly done- the writing, the acting, the costumes, etc. I'm still hoping for a spin off.

First let me just say that I use IMDb all of the time but did not have an account this show made me make one.That said it was great for the first 2 seasons whichever season it was that she woke up in Japan or China and it was 2 years later I was ready to stop watching but I continued because of the way things were between Sydney and Vaughan when she got back to the states. That held my interest until season 4 started and now everyone who was good is working for the bad guy, he is over them, they report to him. SLOAN!!! He killed Sidney's fiancé, he killed Marcus's wife and a host of other people. Everyone vowed to kill him and/or wished him dead to his face up to the moment they started working FOR him. Really. I could deal with anything else but that. Every bad person goes to jail, makes demands and gets out. Her mother, Sloan, and Sark! They had her mother in custody and let her make demands to leave, to have access to a computer. That's just stupid!After reading about the rest of the episodes I don't feel like I want to watch to the end. I think I will keep it on while I work for background noise but it gets no more of my prime time watch time.*Update* I can't even use it for background noise every time I see Sloan leading a briefing I want to puke! Why make them look so stupid.

I found Alias on one of those top shows on Netflix nobody is watching. I watched the pilot and 6 episodes later went to bed primed for more. I am surprised I had never heard of it given the first two episodes launched the viewer into the world of Sidney at an intense pace, like grabbing a bullet train at full speed and trying to hang on. I'm only half way through the show, but I can't imagine the show self destructing. The pace of Sidney's missions are insanely fast, but that is part of what makes the show exciting. Things happen fast, change fast, and surprises are woven into the story line on a regular basis that are of large magnitude and game changing it is amazing that the show maintains its story with the constant ground breaking changes and shocking revelations. Realistic? Who knows, I'm not exactly in the position to judge the accuracy of a show about the life of being a double agent. Yes, it is a bit unbelievable that a group could fool its participants into believing they are part of the CIA when they are actually acting in complete counter actions to the CIA but then again they are supposed to be black ops under the radar and by definition without the oversight that the CIA has making them buy that the CIA can't acknowledge them because they aren't aware of them. So while it has its stretches it has an incredible pace, is exciting and Jennifer Garner a treat to watch even though until seeing her in this show is really the first time I've really liked her. In costume she comes off fantastic in her diverse characters that she pulls off great. They make the skinny little woman look capable of taking down 5 foreign intelligence officers as the fights are choreographed to be at a speed and her actions with precision that she has the skills to pull it off. I have read some harsh slams about the show, but it is the best show I've never heard of and am grateful for those lists of good shows nobody watches because I have found several very good shows that may not have won rave reviews but for me are top notch and this is one of them. Might be old, but as I waited for Season 3 of Arrow to come out the day Season 4 started it was a great filler to give me a show to watch that was difficult to fall asleep watching from the adrenaline rush. I love it!

This series had me gripped from the opening episode when our protagonist, Sydney Bristow discovers that rather than working for a secret branch of the CIA, called SD-6, as she believed she is in fact working for the sort of people she thought she was working against! When she learns the truth and tells the real CIA they tell her to keep working there but as a double agent. She does this but it isn't easy; she has friends there and she must now lie to them on a daily basis without knowing if they are innocent pawns as she once was or whether they know what SD-6 really is. The only person there she knows she can trust there is her estranged father who is also working for the CIA... it sounds complicated and this is just the set up introduced in the pilot! Over the course of the next five series Sydney will work to thwart SD-6 director Arvin Sloane as he seeks personal advancement first in SD-6 then apparently becomes one of the good guys; to be honest I lost track of how often he switched from being good to bad! All the while though he is obsessed by the works of Milo Rambaldi; a fifteenth century inventor and prophet.That is the basic premise of the show; each week Sydney will get sent on a mission somewhere in the world where she will inevitably have to trick her way in to a secure building, fight a load of minions before escaping with whatever she was sent to retrieve. Typically she will be accompanied by fellow SD-6 agent Marcus Dixon or her CIA handler Michael Vaughn. To assist with her missions she will typically be given pieces of equipment by Marshall Flinkman; the nature of these gadgets makes him 'Q' to her (female) James Bond.Having sat through all five seasons (more than once) it is no surprise that I really enjoyed this series; one has to suspend ones disbelief a lot though and expect characters to switch from good to bad and back again with a certain regularity. Jenifer Garner does a fine job in the lead roll managing to make it look believable that Sydney could take out a roomful of bad guys while barely ruffling her hair! The stand out performances though come from Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane and Victor Garber as Sydney's father Jack; they might not do the action like the younger stars but they bring an intensity, and occasionally a sense of menace, to their characters. While a TV show was never going to be able to film in as many locations as the characters go to the use of stock footage gives the impression that the show really is there; after all show us a clip featuring the Eiffel Tower then cut to an office block and we'll think its in Paris... although occasionally it doesn't work such as when a London police car looked like something form the 60s!Overall I recommend this to somebody wanting lots of action with a quality cast and a decent story line. Just be warned that some scenes aren't really suitable for younger viewers, although I'm sure the plot would be too confusing for them anyway.
