Synopsis

Almost Perfect is an American situation comedy that aired on the CBS television network from September 17, 1995 until October 30, 1996. The series focused on the professional life of the female executive producer of a television cop show, her witty, zany staff which doubled as her family, and initially, how she balanced her high-powered role with that of her newfound romance with a busy assistant D.A. The series was created by Ken Levine, David Isaacs and Robin Schiff, and produced by Levine & Isaacs Productions and Robin Schiff Productions, in association with Paramount Television. Levine and Isaacs were previously known for their work as writers and producers on the long-running Paramount-produced Cheers, as well as on its Paramount stablemate Wings. Like the latter shows, Almost Perfect featured a tight-knit ensemble aspect between the cast, which in this case was formed by the production staff of the fictional cop show. CBS canceled the series just four episodes into its second season. Six leftover episodes aired on Lifetime in December 1997, followed by reruns of the entire series surfacing on USA Network's weekday morning lineup between 1998 and 2001.

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!

Phonearl Good start, but then it gets ruined
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
misslu This show was very funny in its first season, but then they got rid of Kevin Kilner and the show was just another run of the mill bad sitcom. The talent that remained was still very good, and they had a good chemistry, but the writing was far from inspired.
Jetwardy This was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Nancy Travis is wonderful. The entire premise was fresh and clever. It was an ensemble cast that was "Almost Perfect". With so much trash getting air time and so many shows being picked up in syndication it is hard to accept this show being skipped over.
Daniel Will-Harris First you've got the Always Perfect Nancy Travis, a modern day Lucille Ball, with all her comedic genius, perfect timing, and cute looks. Why she isn't getting Meg Ryan parts is a mystery. Then you have a setting which people haven't seen since the original Dick Van Dyke show--and which hasn't been handled as realistically and hilariously since. Then you have a cast that's Also Perfect--from the nebbish played to perfection by Chip Zein, with his hilariously whining wife (whining has never been funnier than it was from Lisa Edelstein), to the kid from the mid-west (Matthew Letscher) who's trying to be hip with disastrous results, to the spaced-out writer played by David Clennon who's as far from Miles Drentel as he could be. And the love interest, the perfect straight men--Kevin Kilner. Then you have the writing--which perfectly combines the awful truth about TV with hilarious dialog and a charming romance. And the result is one of the best sit coms in years--which the network (in a display of bad-sense similar to what happens on the show itself) never gave enough exposure or time to gain an audience. This is a show that could have fun for 7 years if the network had let it run for two. It could have run for years if Lifetime cable had picked it up. But for some unknown reason, they all let it drop, and the viewers are the losers.Lifetime did show the entire series (including episodes that the network never aired) but they only did it one--so watch their schedule to see if they did it again.
Rose-35 I liked this show. I thought it was very funny. The entire cast was great but I esp. liked Nancy Travis and Kevin Kilner. Very cute together. It was ashame to see it cancelled so soon but I guess all shows can't stay on long.
