michael-43952 Contains a spoiler, warning! He does a good job. Much better than any other ones out there. He uses his knowledge. He does his own work. He does not repeat the hypocrisy of canned science. He gives a real opinion of what he thinks, not some canned falsehoods put forth by others. He is free from politically correct pejorative terms. There are others with more skills and credentials than him. But they do not use their minds. What good are their skills if they refuse to use them? What good are their credentials if they refuse to think?Scott uses his mind. He thinks. He does good research. What he contributes is genuine and untainted. He may not have solved every puzzle. But he has in every case contributed toward our knowledge. This makes progress towards our finding the truths of the past. He is a real American Scientist. He is a product of the US Constitution. It was written to free the minds of the people to reach greatness. He is not as smart as Newton or Einstein, but who is? On a scale of 1 to 10, with Newton and Einstein being 10's, I rate Scott a 9.His show on the copper mines on that island in the north of Lake Superior was astounding. It made perfect sense. I would have never known about it if it was not for Scott.I have learned so much from his programs that I will treasure this knowledge for the rest of my life.God bless Scott. Keep up the good work. Live long and prosper!
jrredding The program I watched was about Aztec Pyramids in Rock Lake near Lake Mills, WI. I watched as they took mini one mini sub into the lake to find these supposed pyramids. Since these are supposed to be large, a quick sonar scan of the lake would have located any large structures. Instead they show a 2 minute clip of a mini-sub going thru algae on the, bottom of the lake. Then his crew yelling at him to come up. As if this was planned to add drama. Then throughout the show they keep showing a set of fishermen that were the ones sitting on top of a rock formation and hitting it with a paddle. Speculation and rumor seems to be all about producing a almost believable tale but falling just short of true evidence, and never following through on anything in order to leave the viewer hanging out to dry. If the History Chanel wants to be about real History, then put real shows on. Shows about Ghosts, Aliens, and snipes? Really? Common if kids watch this stuff they will start believing it's actually true, and will have a distortion of true history. Put real History on not a "coast to coast" type "conspiracy theory" sideshow.
chrismariedaniels This show is some of the most unsupported dreck I've ever had the misfortune to watch. First of all, this is NOT proved history; it is basically one crackpot geologist's theories, completely unsupported by any legitimate scientific evidence. Scott Wolter is NOT an archaeologist, and relies more on conspiracy theories of "what the government doesn't want you to know" than on established field work that produces real artifacts and proof. You never see any interviews with established and renowned academic experts, and my sense is that he couldn't delineate between a real Viking sword and a Clovis point! For a channel which supposedly presents "history," this program, among others (like the Ancient Alien astronaut crowd), is irresponsible presentation of pseudo-history. At least the ancient alien crowd sometimes presents info in a tongue-in-cheek manner, and one can recognize that it's solely "what-if entertainment". This show takes itself so seriously, and Wolter is so desperate to convince us he's an "expert" rather than a rock-hound with no archaeological experience, that I can't even stand to watch his "intro trailers" anymore.
mchlclarksam Every episode I watched came to nothing. Absolutely nothing! The last episode on Montezuma's gold was ridiculous and a great example. He looked at caves above ground and below water that have been known about for years. Then when he can't drill because the owner of the land is "Afraid of the curse" he goes diving. The so called cave is filled with sand, so they make a half hearted attempt at dredging it, then give up because they are cold. Ridiculous waste of time for him and us. Why is this kind of show aloud on TV? What is it's purpose? If History Channel want to make science fiction or adventure shows? At least state that's what the shows are and make them better. At least with Ancient Aliens in my opinion you are entertained enough that the lies are bearable.
