Synopsis

Atlantis High is a teen comedy TV show, shot in New Zealand in 2001. The plot revolves around 16-year-old Giles Gordon, who has just moved to Sunset Cove, "a beautiful coastal surfing town where the sun is always shining, the people are all beautiful and everything is perfect... or so it seems." He enrolls in Atlantis High School, where he soon discovers that Sunset Cove is unlike any town he's ever seen: populated by double-agents, aliens and high school students with blue hair and pointy ears, its inhabitants are eccentric lunatics who at times turn into superheroes or other whimsical figures. Atlantis High both parodies soap operas and pays homage to spoof television.

Reviews

Tetrady not as good as all the hype
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
ronniedanger Imaginative show. Kind of like American show Pete and Pete. Is this stuff really happening? Is it all in Giles' mind? So funny you can't watch it without laughing outloud! Typical teen cliques and snobbery with an added jolt of supernatural zaniness. Don't miss it!
cinemabitch Any time there are creative shows that people may not "get" (instead of simple shows) and ATLANTIS HIGH is one of these shows. I'm an adult who stumbled across it and found myself really liking the surreal comedy of the show. I describe it to friends as a kid's version of THE PRISONER as if directed by David Lynch.Everyone has their secrets. We're not sure where this really is or who these people really are....... hmmmm....... sounds like LOST may have ripped off an Australian kid's show!Yeah, the acting is over-the-top but that's fine considering the surreal nature of the show and the character of Giles has an annoying lisp. But I can overlook that.
musiqchic07 Does anybody actually understand this show? I found it since it comes on right after my new favorite TV show, The Tribe. A lot of the same talented actors from Tribe are up here, too, but unlike Tribe, I find the plotlines very difficult to follow. But I've resigned myself to the fact that Atlantis High is just a very bizarre show and I'm never going to understand it all of the time. So I'll just sit there confused until the end of the show when, suddenly, it all makes sense and I think "Hey, this was a great show."
Slopmaster4001 I have to admit I accidentally found this show one day after getting off of work early and was hooked instantly. This show is way to bizarre for the average viewer but fits me like a three fingered glove. Now I have only seen two episodes and have no clue what's really going on but that doesn't really matter. Its strange and as a fan of Lexx my void has been filled so here's hoping they find the lost city.
