Synopsis

Catherine Black is a world-famous neurologist at the state-of-the-art medical institution known as "The Cube". Catherine is brilliant, beautiful, and at the top of her game, though she's hiding a secret of her own: she's bipolar. Each week, the doctors on staff attempt to unravel the mysteries of the brain and are constantly challenged by cases never-before-seen on television. The medical stories are moving, bizarre and a visual feast. The personal stories are riveting. The patients have rare, highly visual, often hallucinogenic and startling conditions, which we’ll see through their eyes as Catherine diagnoses and treats them.

Matcollis This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Jemima It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
zach055 While this show seems interesting on the surface, this show has so many unrelated story lines and so many cases per episode, that each case and each storyline is barely covered at all leaving the viewer with so many unanswered questions that they feel obliged to watch the next episode, this causes the viewer to be exposed to new questions which leads to a perpetual cycle of almost all of the ratings of this show come from people simply wanting to get a few nagging questions answered, only to realize far too late that this cycle is never ending. I have no doubt that this show will run for years, but all those who watch it will be trapped in a kind of delusion that they will one day get a resolution to all story lines involved, despite evidence to the contrary. This is what I call, the Lost paradox. And yes, by Lost I am referring to the TV show which only ran for as long as it did because of the never ending questions which arise, most of which were never answered.
sherrygladfelter Absolutely LOVE The Black Box. It is a truly wonderful and informative show. The commercials prior to the show's 1st episode states that it is based on actual cases or events. It is refreshing for a show to show that not all people are text book cases where health issues are concerned. I love that it shows times where others sometimes notice changes in people who may not notice the changes within themselves. The Black Box also shows the sincere concern of a doctor who truly wants the best for her patients or potential patients or whomever she comes into contact with in any way. I have also seen on an episode of partial symptoms that I deal with on a frequent basis since sustaining a post concussion syndrome diagnosis some time after a fall on black ice some time ago. This episode left me with some questions that I could then take back to my doctor to possibly help improve my condition. So it is my recommendation that The Black Box continue as anyone who is willing to watch the program may be able to find an episode in which there are findings into problems that viewers may discover what tests were performed for any given symptom and then that viewer in turn may then be able to speak with their doctor if said symptoms were previously disregarded by their doctor or they were previously unfounded by former testing as I have noticed testing done that is sometimes NOT routine testing to discover the problem. AWESOME TROUBLESHOOTING, Dr. Black!
pinkplanetelle This is one of the only medical dramas that can combine romance, humor and suspense deftly and without awkwardness. Overall, the show is edgy and non-formulaic. One of its best attributes is its cinematography. Shot from various angles and unafraid to explore dreams and hallucinations, it is quite the visual experience. Casting and acting is very appropriate, lending to smoldering chemistry between the leads. Their interactions are artfully done with much insinuation and no luridness. I haven't seen this type of bold exploration of characters' perspective, nor old fashioned romance on TV in a long time. Editing is stellar, with scenes cutting quickly enough to avoid exhausting. The writing is intelligent without being pretentious or obnoxiously witty; the viewer can relate. Patient story lines are fascinatingly unusual. Who has ever heard of Alien Hand Syndrome? Love the occasional jazz musical score backdrop too. No constant, overdone pop music. Please keep this show on, I look forward to watching every week.
sweitzerk I so love the concept of the new series but I just cant seem to grow into the leading lady's acting skills. Her acting just doesn't seem to fit the role and is very dry and choppy. The rest of the cast seems really good but. I think shes is just not a very good actress sorry. I almost quit watching it after the 1st episode because it her acting skills or lack there of because shes just not believable in this particular role. But I've hung in there because the ideals and concept of the show which is great. I have 3 friends that quit watching the show completely because of her a well. Can you keep the show and drop her?
