Synopsis

The pirate adventures of Captain Flint and his men twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “Treasure Island.” Flint, the most brilliant and most feared pirate captain of his day, takes on a fast-talking young addition to his crew who goes by the name John Silver. Threatened with extinction on all sides, they fight for the survival of New Providence Island, the most notorious criminal haven of its day – a debauched paradise teeming with pirates, prostitutes, thieves and fortune seekers, a place defined by both its enlightened ideals and its stunning brutality.

Incannerax What a waste of my time!!!
Mehdi Hoffman There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
ali-nawfal I used to love it. Stopped watching in mid season 3. The character Max ruined the show for me. Im not racist or anything, but that character is annoying, frustrating, and doesn't make sense whatsoever. How can a prostitute suddenly become a wise fancy lady?? Plus her acting is horrible.
sarahhamill30 They invented 'unbury your gays'. I have literally never been so surprised or pleased to find out that the main lead was bisexual and had a male lover. You could have knocked me down with a feather. This being a hyper-masculine show, I had (quite wrongly) just assumed that they would keep all the male leads straight and perhaps have non-straight side actors, if that. How wrong could I be. I couldn't be more proud of their bravery against a potentially partially homophobic audience in making Flint bisexual. It was so refreshing in a modern show to have a man not be defined by his non-straightness as it were, but to have it be a non-issue to everyone else in the show, as it should be in real life. Starz are exceptional at pulling this off, if you like Black Sails, you should watch Spartacus. I have honestly never been happier with the ending of a series. It was just the perfect ending to such a superb series, in my opinion, congratulations to one and all involved.
lisak-113-832403 Rather over American- ridiculous white teeth, constant "sked-ules" instead of the English "Shed-lies" but it seems from the first ep like good fun, if rather brain dead good fun. Perhaps I'll get into it more as it goes on but it's rather empty for me at present
vadsang This show could have been absolutely fantastic. And actually some of it is... especially seasons 2 and 3. But then they stall alot with conversations that have no real importance or meaning, and dont really seem to add anything to the characters. At the start, this is intriguing, to get a sense of the world, but as the series progress, I really started losing patience with all these stalling, undramatic conversations. And once we reach season 4, they really seem to struggle to prolong the drama, and characters start making decisions, which do not seem logical to their siturations and temper, in order to keep the drama going. The show becomes increasingly uninteresting and the drama lacks flow. Too bad, for a show with alot of potential.
