Good start, but then it gets ruined

All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I was pretty annoyed when I tried to watch this show by how horribly unbelievable it is. Hollywood is pretty notorious for producing things that are idealized, and conservatives mostly don't like liberals because they're 'cooky'. To see a 'cooky' cop show is sort of baffling, especially when I see the reviews. Cops don't just shoot kids that are running. The people that made this show seem to lack common sense and acumen, two of the most important qualities in a police officer. The show might have decent drama, but the police work is in no way believable. If you want reality just watch COPS or YouTube channels like PoliceActivity or Donut Operator.

This is a half way decent show. It could be a lot better. I have always liked Tom Selleck as an actor as I watched him play Magnum P.I. when I was a child in the early eighties. This show though could do without all the jabs at the LEFT WING & LIBERALS & DEMOCRATS. I am a U.S. MARINE & I am a DEMOCRAT. NEW YORK is a DEMOCRATIC state. Most of the population of the united states, as proven by the popular vote of the 2016 election, are DEMOCRATS, LIBERALS, & LEFT WING. If this show could do without the jab at any politics period I could get more into this show. I haven't watched all seasons yet but I like a lot of the plots & storylines for each episode I've seen so far. You never hear the jab at conservatives/republicans/the right wing, well then they should not do it at the LEFT/DEMOCRATS/LIBERALS either. I like to see Tom Selleck make some appearances with Sam Elliott whom he played with in a number of westerns in Sam Elliott show The Ranch on Netflix & I'd like to see Tom Selleck appear on the hit CANADIAN show HEARTLAND with Shaun Johnston the only other good actor to play in Westerns these days.

I do enjoy this show almost all the time. But to me, one of the biggest drawbacks is the unshaven face of Donny Wahlberg, Danny Reagan. I don't think the NYPD would tolerate one of their detectives running around looking like an unshaven slob all the time. Two bits of advice: stop frowning all the time, and for crying out loud, SHAVE!

If the show brings that horrible racist onto the show as a regular, I, along with many other loyal viewers, will ditch this show faster than beans through a cowboy. It's bad enough that Linda was sloppily dismissed by a single line of dialogue by a tertiary guest character, but adding Goldberg, well that will end my viewership tenure.
