Laikals The greatest movie ever made..!
Beystiman It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
robertweissbecklp When I watch an anime...I never compare them too other anime or related games..... I only judge on what i can see and my own feeling towards the seriesAlthough the title seems a bit...childish....the poster seems interesting(most of the fan i know choose anime base on cool poster...lol)a beautiful girl and a cool hero...The character designer did a very good job.....the characters are beautiful and cool..the director and writer also did a wonderful job in introducing the characters and gist of the game....the action sequence is exciting.....and in my opinion the development of the hero and heroin romantic relationship...is welll plan.... not too fast and not too slow....I think that the production team were not given enough episode to fully tell their story... it is a pity that there are no 2nd season..... maybe if they were able to have a few more episode, the series would have made a better impression on the viewers.I couldn't find any other anime that uses bomb as their fighting tools...so i consider this series is unique and original(if you can forget about the game).I think that the series is worth watching and you will enjoy it very much however, the ending will be a bit disappointing as i feel that there are no closure.
Jim Fess If your into kill or be killed, bloody, immoral, psychological & violent anime then this should be pretty high on your must watch list! I will say the story is fairly predictable but done really well enough that its still very interesting. This show is about killing 7 other people and taking there chips to be able to get off of this island they've all been stranded on with nothing but an assortment of bombs. I will say the weapons they get are pretty unique and make for a good story, the characters are pretty good, the main male character reminds me of Light Yagami from Death Note similar looks and thought process. I'm kind of sad that theirs not more episodes or a season two for it yet, i know the reason though two years ago when this anime was made they used every chapter from the manga(about 40-50) to make 12 episodes and since its a monthly chapter manga theirs only about enough content for another 6 episodes currently.Overall: 4/5. Why not 5/5? Well the overall outcome of everything is pretty predictable(so far that is, i haven't read the manga) but what can you expect for the story line there's not much more i could ask for(don't get me wrong though its end outcome is predictable yes but it doesn't fail to keep you watching and wanting more with every episode), my only other reasoning is that there's not a season 2 yet. This show came very highly recommend to me and everyone who's watched it liked it a lot or loved it, so i think they should write chapters a bit quicker. On a irrelevant note, because this anime is still ongoing and there isn't a season two yet and i enjoyed it so much i'm going to buy all the current mangas(about 50$ total) to help support its continuation hopefully it helps it on its way for a second season since it really isn't that old yet i'd say theirs a 75% chance for a second season especially with the ending of season one, its wide open with several big question marks!
Tweekums Ryota Sakamoto is one of the best players of the online game 'Btooom!' which involves players fighting with small bombs to achieve their objective. Then one day Ryota wakes to find himself on a remote Pacific island with a satchel containing eight of the bombs from the game... he is now playing for real! Over the course of the opening episodes he has to fight some other players and ends up teamed with Hamiko, a girl who unbeknownst to him had played the game alongside him on line and Kiyoshi Taira, an older man who also played the game. During this time we learn that there are a variety of different bomb types and players can only use other people's bombs if that person is dead, everybody also has a chip implanted in their left hand that works as a radar to spot other players and if a player collects eight such chips they will be taken off the island... which of course gives everybody a motive to kill and a reason not to trust anybody. This may seem like just another fighting-anime but it is much more than that; there is a good amount of action and the tension is always high but this is more about how the characters behave and how the game makes trust difficult. Ryoka and Hamiko make good protagonists; they are obviously skilled at the game but they aren't that much better than other players so it frequently looks as if they could be hurt. The premise itself isn't that different to 'Battle Royale' but the execution is different and the fact that players need eight chips to get off the island rather than needing everybody else to die means it is more believable that they would form teams... even if those teams are fragile. The fact that they are fighting with a variety of bombs is original and when they detonate it is well animated. There is a small amount of fan-service but it isn't excessive enough to be off putting. The series is only twelve episodes long but the final episode clearly leaves things open for a second season... and I'm sure most people who watched this will be hoping for more; I know I do.These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles. At the time I write this the series can be watched legally on Crunchyroll.
Aaron Owjay I watch a lot of anime, when I mean a lot I can proudly say I have covered about 50 different series at the least. This one ranks up there, with the suspense, difficulty and tactical awareness of the game, and the whole bringing out the crazy in normal people plot. A must watch. I rate this on similar lines as death note, dead man wonderland, Mirai Nikki, high school of the dead just to name a few.If you are into anime series that constantly keep you at the edge and do have a sense of realism and plausibility all through the story or 'world' that has been created, then this is for you. If in turn you like more fantasy heroic idol worshiping anime's as bleach and naruto or one piece, then you should look else where because this is some serious stuff.
