Reviews

Beystiman It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Phillipa Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
OllieSuave-007 This is a reality TV series featuring true stories of law enforcement officers from various regions and departments of the United States. The television camera captures real footage of the officers in action as they serve and protect.Like cop show Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, this show covers a variety of cases from chasing down drug dealers to high-speed car chases. It is interesting seeing officers on duty in action, with a camera following their moves. At times, it can me more intense than watching a movie because the action here is real.Overall, this show has more adrenaline, action and intrigue than Real Stories of the Highway Patrol.Grade B
mike_cable Cops is an enduring piece of modern television, sticking with the exact same formula right from the start of its debut season. We ride shotgun with the men and women of the law enforcement community as they respond to calls for help, chase down suspects and detect dodgy dealings. The highlight of any episode is the high-speed car chase that inevitably ends with the offender crashing or abandoning their vehicle as they realise running is pointless. Before we know it, the police car with the camera is just one of ten cars on the same job and the suspects are always found. Then comes the moment when four guys will capture and slam the mindless offender violently to the ground and keep the situation safe, while other officers gather evidence from the scene. The cops of the show's title go into each job not knowing what to expect and the show illustrates the courage and difficulty the officers face each day of their job.No matter what episode it is, or if it's a repeat episode, you'll never be disappointed by the excitement and dedication of the individuals doing their job.
Roger Baldwin At first, this show is entertaining, and the behavior of some of the suspects is fascinating. But after a while, you come to see that everything is presented in black-and-white: There are no bad cops, and the suspects are inborn fools or just plain evil. As the show presents itself as a documentary or "reality," this one-sidedness is irritating and takes credibility away from the producers. Hundreds of episodes and I doubt there has been a single incident of abuse or graft, yet they try to present Cops as spontaneous and natural. Police can be "bad boys," too, and trying to disguise this makes this show more propaganda than reality.
brightfamouscucumber Cops is weekend prime-time 30-minute action-packed "reality" TV show, where cameramen ride along with on-duty police officers, purportedly showing real-live incidents as they occur while the police officers are on duty.Unlike other law-enforcement-biased "reality" shows, such as "Real Stories of the Highay Patrol", COPS restricts any and all commentary to the video-recorded events of the same duty-shift. At least as far as I have seen, except when COPS combines episodes with other "reality" based law-enforcement shows, each segment starts with a police officer driving along in his car, or meeting with other law-enforcement officers, making general comments about their perception of law-enforcement, or saying something specific, to set up the upcoming action scenes. Then it shows some scenes of the ride-along officers encountering the public in response to form of complaint, and sometimes it shows the resolution of those complaints. It is completely unscripted, and off the cuff.It often shows actual disturbances, violence, bloodshed, and actual death. It often shows police brutality and officers defaming the character of the people they encounter. It often shows people in the process of committing a crime. It also, often shows police officers in the process of committing crimes. But it never shows the crime-committing cops being handcuffed. This is a dangerously biased show.It is a show depicting that COPS can do no wrong. It does state at the beginning of each episode that "all suspects are considered innocent until proved guilty in a court of law", but it's always some other bad guys, not the criminals of a badge-bearing kind, who get cuffed and stuffed, and in some cases, brutalized. And it is quite clear that the vast majority of the badge-bearers consider the suspects guilty. And it's edited to be this way. It's edited to appear to be some sort of "good versus evil", but it is not. It is nothing short of evil vs. evil, and sometimes its the perp who's more evil, and other times it's the badge-bearer. But it's always the badge-bearer whose opinions get final input on each and every segment, and usually a very rude bash of the people they were hired to protect and serve. It is sick and it it is twisted, and it is in a time spot known to be predominantly viewed by adolescents. On a scale of one-to-ten for entertainment value, I would quite honestly and with great justification give it a negative ninety-nine.The worst nightly news show in a third-world country would receive a greater rating from me than this atrocious filth.
