It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

I was a student of Mr. Bradley's at Sayville Elementary School. I still have a cup he made for me (and all his other students) at the end of the school year. I was saddened to learn of his passing from this film, but I thank you Mr. Lithgow. You played him with dignity. He was a great teacher and will be sorely missed. This film may not mean much to anyone who didn't know the teachers, but to those of us that did, it was a good film. It tells the story of one man bravely taking on the Insurance industry when they refused to help pay for treatment that could have saved his life. If only they had just payed for it instead of dragging it out in court, he might still be here today.
