Famous heart surgeon Markos Staikos leaves New York, to take on the medical center of Lidia, a quaint Greek village. When a mysterious symptom he is called to treat leads to an illicit affair being revealed, the village turns against the newcomer.

After Antrianna's intervention, Markos decides to stay at the village. But his patience is tried again, after the medical centre becomes flooded by people who are perfectly healthy, but nevertheless curious to meet the new doctor.

Antrianna tries to approach Markos, but he pushes her away, although he seems to be in love with her. Margarita's father is getting married, and she decides to attend the wedding, to Miltos' great disappointment.

Markos stops administering the pills Ilias was used to taking up to now, and this results in Ilias' symptoms getting worse. The entire village turns against Markos and he gets a valuable lesson from his predecessor.

Markos saves Petros' life. So, Mika is forced to announce to Petros that she has a child and ask him to give blood. Markos' chivalry impresses the entire village, and most of all Antrianna.
