Skunkyrate Gripping story with well-crafted characters
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Ella-May O'Brien Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
kathsykes1959 Love this series. Have seen box sets series 1 and 2. I'm now looking forward to seeing series 3. Will Hugh and Penny get together.
melaniedougall-47500 Can anyone tell me what the name of the theme music instrumental and who performs this? It's a upbeat and very catchy tune.
restoredsleepz-18505 I think that this is a decent show, but just wanted to point out that the directors and the writers have definitely found inspiration from the hit medical TV series 'House M.D.'. Since I'm such a big fan of the 'House' series, part of me likes this, but the pessimistic side of me doesn't like this. Since House finished airing; finishing with season 8 in 2012, it's great to see certain symbolism, ideas and story lines being reborn in a different television series which brings that nostalgia which we all crave. However, I'd like to see the writers and directors acknowledge that they have taken ideas from 'House' as they are profiting at the expense of another TV series' storyline -- which is the legal problem, but not publicly acknowledging this fact is a moral problem as well. Additionally, it would be good to see this show thrive from using original ideas and not getting higher ratings for using undeclared, but blatantly obvious plots, characters and symbolism from 'House'. Either way, this show is enjoyable to watch; it's just this one dilemma which bothers me.
bref I'm enjoying this so far. I like the laconic dialogue and depiction of small town lifestyle. However, I'm waiting for the usual Aussie malaise, the gradual descent into cliché driven soap. I'm hoping this time, Charlie doesn't allow herself to be seduced by Hugh, Matt doesn't die to make way for Hugh, Hugh doesn't have sex 'to make a baby' with Charley - he's a surgeon, let him supply his sperm the clinical way for a change. How about a stable if quirky family situation that doesn't deteriorate into the usual melodramatic BS... There's plenty of material in the outback lifestyle to keep the series going for years if they do it right.
