Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Ortiz Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
sleeping_gorilla Just recently found this 2004 cartoon and I'm loving it! France is slowly becoming a force to reckon with in animation and this show is beautiful. I immediately thought of Don Bluth's movies when I saw this. It's not common to see cartoons with this level of detail and fluid motion. The English voice acting is great. Rick Jones as Quizdo really steals the show as the fast talking, deal making coward. Harry Standjofski as Lian-Chu serves as a fun counterpoint. What really sold me was the characters. Qwizdo is a scrawny, insecure, guy who is just trying to survive in the world. Lian-Chu is the real Dragon Hunter who, while not stupid, is illiterate and shy.Qwizdo does the talking for Lian-Chu, who would happily slay dragons for free. Qwizdo worries that that Lian-Chu is too competent and doesn't need him. Lian-Chu is brave and strong, but awkward. In just the first episode their roles in the partnership are reversed and Qwizdo is fighting the Dragon while Lian-Chu is trying to negotiate pay with angry villagers. In fact most of the time both characters are out of their comfort zone and having to to do things they are not good at to get out of a bad situation. How refreshing is that? It's too bad their are only 2 episodes. Though apparently there is a CGI movie released in several regions.
skyligth Accidentally i watch today for my very first time one episode of this series in the Panda channel i was like OMG what a pearl so beautiful art and story line and characters, i was amazed ill try to purchase the all series and the movie i really loved it. Its a gem alright. OK so i basically said the essential of my appreciation on this series but unfortunately IMDb thinks weed need ten lines to express ourselves ,,, so ill express myself a bit more. Today work was a pane, my was waiting TV in her Jammie's when i got home and for dinner i ate nothing more than water melon... i will not dwell to much into my inner thoughts , simple because i think there are of little interest to anyone but, still i manage this way to the closer to those ten lines. I hope i don't get banned for this comment but since i only register to show my appreciation for the series i hope that at least .. of well ten lines it is bye bye
Chelle L This to me is a Masterpiece! I LOVED every second of those show. The voice actors were AMAZING in all of the regions this was shown in! You can't help but absolutely love the beautifully detailed work on the backgrounds of the series. When I first watched this, I thought the BGs were simply breath taking..it helped take me to their little world they were in. The characters all have their own unique personalities and completely compliment each other in that way. This helps to bring out the comedy in many situations. This series is action packed, with bits of comedy and great lessons as well! I'm sure kids of all ages would love this series. Gwizdo and Lian-Chu are Dragon Hunters. They of course, go around hunting dragons but in situations sometimes never get paid for their work! Gwizdo is obsessed with his contracts and gold, while Lian-Chu is more for just trying to help out those who need it. As stated in another posters comment, Gwizdo is abit of a scaredy cat, always running away when it comes time to fight the dragon. Something crazy always happens to these two..This is definitely one of THEE best cartoons i've watched in a long time. It's such a shame Cartoon Network didn't give it much respect... =/
flikkino I wonder why this cartoon seems to be nearly unknown: it's not a masterpiece for sure, but it's worthy see. Here we have the enterprises of Gwizdo e Lian-Chu, two dragon hunters who lives in a fantastic world of floating island. The first is a cowardly but speedy-talked young man whose passion is to have a contract signed for his job of everyday: the dragon hunting. But it's his big comrade Lian-Chu (as big as he's good)to fight against their amazing enemies. That's it, the dragons are almost always defeated, but hardly our heroes manage to be paid for this. Every episode told a story, not only the chase (that is actually left on the background), and each of these is an amusing adventure all to be enjoyed. I repeat: this series can be not a masterpiece, but it's a little jewel, very original especially for an European production (of animation, for in the French comics we can see more better things of this kind). Last thing: pay attention to the catchy opening theme, "The dragon hunters song" by the Cure!
