Softwing Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
HelenMary Actress, Illeana Douglas, playing herself, is trying to get out of "Hollywood" by working in Burbank IKEA as a sort of entertainer to raise morale and co-worker team spirit. The Episodes are short - mostly under ten minutes, some only three or four, and have an impressive cast list, keep your eyes peeled for various actors either playing themselves or acting. Jeff Goldblum was a favourite. It's laugh out loud funny in places, but very very odd and quirky, with a lot of abstract situational laughs and set up (variously good and bad) Swedish impressions. Set in a real IKEA situation, not an ersatz-IKEA, notice that pretty much everything is yellow and blue. I can't believe how weird this is and how someone came to think of it but the story arch is quite engaging and there is a story to follow. Michael Irpino, playing Lance Krapp, the camp over-enthusiastic IKEAn is fun, and I really like him. Justine Bateman, again playing herself, is the main competition to Illeana's plans, and the cute, funny, love-interest, musical-guy is Robert Mailhouse (also in the band Sparhusen, with Illeana Douglas). Enjoyable. Weird. Lots of spin-off episodes/extras regarding Sparhusen, and they've even done albums of music! Very funny.
