The first must-see film of the year.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Held my interest from beginning to end... I have no idea why there were bad reviews... You can't compare a tv series to a movie.. I loved both for different reasons...

I am a huge fan of the movie, so thought about giving this show a shot. I felt the way they tried to mix things up was interesting, but a lot of things really hold this show back. First of all, it's the cast. The Riley Smith who plays Frank Sullivan doesn't seem a good fit in my opinion. And no, I'm not comparing him to Dennis Quaid. Mainly I found it very hard to sympathize with him. The entire time he acted like a junky. And every time he spoke he seemed like he lacked confidence. He did not at all feel convincing to me that he was in law enforcement. That fact alone made it kind of hard for me to feel immersed into the show.Peyton List playing Raimy Sullivan might be the strongest part of the show, but in a way that might actually be a bad thing because whenever she has scenes with Lenny Jacobson who plays Gordo, it really just exaggerates just how terrible of an actor Lenny Jacobson is. I don't intend to be mean, maybe it's not his fault, but it's pretty painful every time he has any screen time. And if half of the main duo being completely not convincing wasn't bad enough, I found that the writing seems to be all over the place. Sometimes I find some of the things they do or some of the ways they tried to change up the original story kind of clever (not meaning better than the original, not in the slightest, but clever in that they found a way to deliver the scene without looking like an exact copy of the source), while other times, like in the dialog between the mother and father in the second episode, it seems very contrived. Now I admit I've only watched the first three episodes, I intend to at least finish the first season, but it seems to be getting worse with each episode rather than better, but I'll still give it a chance. If it improves in the later episodes I will definitely come back to revise this review. But as of right now, I am finding this series very mediocre. And that's not comparing it to the movie, which was excellent. If I compared the two, this would simply be terrible in comparison.

I thought this would be a good show after the first three episodes. But my first impression was ruined by the bad depiction of the characters - awful depiction.Basically the idea of the show breaks down after the first few epsiodes. Why?1. Why is she refusing to talk to her mom in the past. Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The plan was to convince her mom to stop being such a b and start taking better care of herself. Two people could do a better job at convincing her then one who can barely articulate a full sentence (her father).2. Why does nobody tell her mother that she is a target of the serial killer? I just cannot fathom a good reason.3. The mother is a b****. Very self involved, very hard headed, very impolite and always up to pick a fight with that estranged husband of hers.4. I actually lost the show and stopped watching it at episode number 4. Her had's reaction to how he tried to capture the serial killer was absolutely beyond belief. I mean, apparently some policemen cannot capture a serial killer even if they get info on who he is from the future - just your typical US police men. Instead of tracking and following the guy, instead of putting a tail on him (he was officially part of the nightingaile police team, instead of cornering him with an entire SWAT team, that piece of junk policemen runs after his car with his badge out and his gun around the moment he spots him. That's just really really bad police work. I gave up on this show that exact moment.Interesting idea but very very poor and lacklustre implementation. Waste your time with something else.Kind Regards

This is how you do it.Not many series released this year have the capacity to draw you in and really capture your imagination and get you involved in the story line. Frequency on the other hand had me from the first episode. This is what you get when you do everything right in a series it leaves you on edge waiting, just wanting to find out more of the story behind it. This is by far the best series released in 2016. I encourage anyone who likes mystery and drama to watch this series. I only hope it lives up to its potential in season 2, Would hate to see such a great series brought to its knees. 8/10.
