LIN works as a maid servant for the CHEUNGS. Her Master CHOR wants to adopt her as his concubine as she is so charming. He usually peeps at LIN when she is bathing. On the other hand, another maid servant HEUNG is jealous of LIN and always backbites her in front of their mistress KAM. KAM is discontented and hates LIN. MU TAI LONG admires LIN and sends WONG to the CHEUNGS to ask for the marriage. KAM agrees but LIN refuses and CHOR is not happy with the marriage. CHOR goes to LONG's house and makes him to accept his plan. LIN is deceived. After the marriage banquet, LIN is sent to the bedroom and LONG leaves. CHOR replaces LONG and rapes LIN. LONG can do nothing but weep outside the bedroom.

LIN goes out with her good friends PIN and MUI. However they are attacked by a tiger and LIN is trapped in a pit. Luckily MU CHUNG arrives and saves them. LIN appreciates CHUNG and admires him. CHUNG is adopted as an official as he has killed the tiger. He returns home and LIN is disappointed to know that he is her brother-in-law. FA holds a birthday banquet. CHOR and HING go to celebrate with him, bringing their wives and concubines. They request FA to appoint them as officials but they are rejected. HING gambles with FA's nephew HUI and wins a jade vase. FA scolds HUI. HING returns the vase to FA. FA is happy but he still refuses to help HING to get a post. LIN cannot hold tight a pole and hurts HING. HING is angry and LIN apologizes. Meanwhile WONG comes across the quarrel and introduces them to each other. HING is happy to see LIN who is a charming lady.

WONG invites LIN to sew for her and in fact she wants to bridge LIN and HING. LONG comes and scolds them but LIN criticize him that he is too suspicious. WAN wants to marry LONG's daughter YING. However YING loves PING's brother CHUNG. LIN helps YING to drive WAN away and YING thanks her. One night LIN prepares dinner for CHUNG but CHUNG does not turn up. However CHOR arrives and warns her that he has been appointed as an official and LIN should be obedient. CHOR comes to HING's medicine shop when he is patrolling. He pushes HING's medicine on the floor. HING is angry and employs henchmen to burn CHOR's mill. As CHOR, KAM and HEUNG are inside, they are killed by the fire. LIN and LONG are happy to learn their deaths. CHUNG accuses HING as the killer but the judge CHAN MAN SIU regards it as an accident as there is no evidence.

Civilian Team and Gentleman Team have a football match and the match ends in a tie. LONG returns home and sees that LIN only wears her brassiere and he has sex with her though LIN is reluctant. The next day, LONG sees that LIN talks with a man intimately in a noodle stall. He is angry and splashes the noodle soup to LIN. LIN is hurt and reports the case to the court. However the judge regards it as a home affair and just warns LONG. LIN is angry and when she goes to buy medicine for herself, she buys some poison to kill LONG. When HING knows her act, he stops her. When CHUNG learns that LONG and LIN have gone to the court, he rushes home to see what has happened. LIN discloses her love of CHUNG and asks CHUNG to elope with her. CHUNG is angry and ignores her.

HING asks WONG to send LIN some valuable medicine and his kind act impresses LIN. FA sends HUI to collect rent from the peasants. On his way, he meets a pregnant woman who is going to give birth to her baby. HUI helps her to deliver the baby and asks PING to take care of her and the baby. His behavior impresses PING. CHUNG has to leave Tor a while. LIN and PING sew shoes for him and CHUNG states that he loves PING instead of LIN. LIN is discontented. WAN wants to marry YING. In order to avenge, LIN helps WAN this time. CHUNG elopes with YING but WAN catches up. In chaos, WAN is pushed downstairs and he has to rest. He becomes hot-tempered. CIN is scolded by LONG. Hatred grows in her heart, being fertilized by her unpleasant experience. She decides to kill LONG.

After killing LONG, LIN seeks help from HING and WONG at midnight. HING promises to bribe KAU - the funeral worker and WONG helps her clean the place. KAU claims that LONG dies of internal injury and he asks LIN to burn LONG's body as soon as possible. CHUNG returns and goes to visit LONG's tomb. He is surprised to see that all vegetation near the tomb wilt. He opens the coffin the next day, finding that all LONG's bones are black. He believes that LONG had been poisoned before he dies. Being convinced by HING and WONG. LIN decides to live with HING. In order to protect LIN, HING frames LI CHUNG as the killer of LONG. CHUNG investigates the case and discovers that all evidence is unfavourable to LI CHUNG. He believes that LI CHUNG killed LONG as LONG refused to allow YING to marry him. CHUNG accuses LI CHUNG in the court.

CHUNG accuses LI CHUNG in front of MAN SIU. PING worries. SIU summons KAU who admits that he has lied. He states that LI CHUNG has instructed to do so. HING then asks KAU to take refuge in the countryside. However HING sends henchmen to lurk KAU who falls down a cliff. At last MAN SIU sentences LI CHUNG capital punishment after listening to the others' statements. PING begs HUI to find KAU. On the other hand, PING claims that she is the killer so as to get more time for investigation. CHUNG does not know how to help her. MAN SIU finds that case strange and sends CHUNG to find KAU. As LIN knows that HING has done so many things for her, she is impressed and gives him her body. On the other hand, she feels guilty for PING.

Instructed by PING, CHUNG finds the evidence outside a deserted temple. However HUI cannot find KAU. He worries for PING. MAN SIU discovers the so called evidence is a broken bowl belonging to the FAS. He knows that PING cannot be the killer and he punishes her and decides to have LI CHUNG prosecuted the next day. After LI CHUNG's death, HUI takes care of PING. FA knows that HUI loves PING and he does not object. PING advises HUI to work hard for FA and he does so. After forty-nine days of LONG's death, LIN marries HING but she is humiliated by HING's wives and concubines. She is even framed of poisoning HING's third concubine. At last she proves that she is innocent. MUI is sent to be her maid servant and she knows her dangerous situation.

In order to bridge PING and HUI, FA allows PING to buy her freedom at a low price. HUI hurts his forehead when he is sending PING an umbrella. As he is sick, he has to rest in bed. His kind act touches PING who is willing to take care of him. HING suggests to give the new general a big birthday gift. MAN SIU asks CHUNG to escort the valuables. The new general appreciates HING for going so. PING promises to marry HUI. On the marriage day, LIN comes to the banquet. She is envy of PING who can be HUI's wife and lead a good life. HING lusts for PING who is so charming. HING is excited as the LIN's flowers give a good sign and he is appointed as an official.

HUI finds that YAU has taken FA's money. YAU begs him to some time to return the money. However FA discovers that case and YAU believes that HUI has reported the case. Hatred grows in YAU's heart. YAU wants to kill HUI by collapsing a hut when HUI goes to see the progress OT construction. HUI is not hurt as he goes to the toilet. FA and the farmers have compromised to settle the case but HING claims that the court should handle the case to humiliate FA. HUI supports HING's work and FA is angry. One night YAU sends a killer to FA's room. FA is killed and the killer's arm is hurt by FA. HUI hears the Tight and goes to see what has happened. When he approaches FA, YAU appears and cries that HUI has killed FA. HUI is arrested. PING is sad to see that HUI is framed like LI CHUNG.

MUI suggests that PING can seek help Tram HING. CHUNG believes that HUI is innocent as he cannot find red clay in FA's house. HING asks HUI to escape Tram the prison so as to frame him. On his way, HUI finds that YAU is talking to a man whose arm has been hurt. He knows that the man is the killer. He goes to question them and in chaos YAU is killed. HUI meets PING and they want to run away. The boat is attacked by a storm. Being sent by HING, WA pushes HUI into the water but unexpectedly he is hurt by the pole. Although PING is sad, she still tries to save WA. WA is touched and tells her how HING has framed LI CHUNG Tor LIN and HUI. PING wants to avenge.

HING comes to visit PING in HUI's funeral. PING cries on his shoulder. YING argues with PING -For FA's land. CHUNG drives YING away. Later HING leads YING to beg her to forgive him. PING thanks HING and gives him a present. LIN knows that HING is going to marry PING and is afraid that her role will be endangered. PING asks CHUNG what he will do if he has killed an innocent person. CHUNG states that he will kill himself. As PING does not want CHUNG to hurt himself, she decides to marry HING to find a chance to avenge. HING states that there is no need +or PING to pay special respect to his wives and other concubines. PING agrees to sleep with HING after one hundred days to show her respect to HUI. HING has to accept the term reluctantly.

PING uses tricks to make her welcome by the others in HING's house. PING finds that MING lusts for MUI and tricks HING's money with KIU. She has a plan. CHAI returns from the capital and tells HING that the general has been dismissed. HING is shocked. When HING learns that CHAI's parents have been killed, he is afraid and sends CHAI to see if there is any new chance and solution. In order to make HING happy, HING's wives and concubines have a riddle competition. The winner will accompany HING for ten days. PING knows the answers but she asks LIN to answer. At last LIN can stay with HING. MUI goes to take LIN's clothing and MING fallows her. MING entangles MUI and CHUNG comes to save her. However HING regards this as an internal affair of his house. He handles it himself. Believing that MING is innocent, HING punishes MUI.

MING asks KIU to help him getting MUI. KIU tricks MUI by giving her some medicine. However it is seen by a maid servant YUEN who goes to inform PING. PING grasps the chance to save MUI and trap KIU. She leads HING to KIU's room. Seeing KIU and MING in the bed without clothes, HING is angry and pushes them into a well after beating them up. LIN and PING are frightened by HING's cruelty. KING sends a message to HING and tells HING that everything is all right in the capital. HING feels relieved. HA comes and he states that SIU is involved in General YEUNG's case. HING tries to flatter HA. CHUNG is angry to see SIU being framed and he is aware of the relationship between HING and HA. CHAI and WONG return from the capital. On their way, they meet WAI who wants to get money to bury her father. WONG buys her with his own money. HING's wife appoints WAI to marry WONG.

CHAI meets the gangsters who have robbed him. He secretly fallows them and finds their hiding place. He informs HING. HING reports to the official. As HING's information is useful, he is appreciated. CHAI tricks HING's fortune. PING reminds him to be careful. Her kind act impresses him. HING meets WAI in the street. When he knows that WAI is a maid servant of his family, he asks TOI to poison her and wants to rape her. LIN knows his plant and tells WONG. WONG is so angry that he wants to kill HING. However WONG is defeated and killed by HING. WAI is shocked and she is locked up. LIN is discontented and she sets her free. However WAI goes to the court. As LIN does not want to make HING angry, she refuses to admit that WAI was released by her. At last HA drives WAI away. WAI feels ashamed and kills herself. She dies beside LIN. LIN feels guilty.

The doctor tells PING that she is bearing a baby. PING knows that it is HUI's baby. She begs the doctor to keep the secret and she promises to sleep with HING. WONG KU CHI predicts the best chance for LIN to bear HING's baby. However HING leaves when he knows that PING has fainted. LIN is angry. When LIN learns from the doctor that PING is pregnant, she uses medicine to make PING have miscarriage. However she is stopped by MUI. Later VLIET is proven to have baby. To consolidate her role, SUET accepts WONG KU CHI's advice. She tells HING that she is having a baby too. HING is excited. YUK is jealous and she employs an evil person to curse them. PING gets wind OT this plan Tram TO and she uses the chance to avenge.

YUK's curse cannot affect SUET. They know that SUET does not bear any baby. They want to spoil SUET's plan but unexpectedly, YUET is trapped and miscarries. HING discovers SUET's trick and punishes her. She is beaten up sent to the temple to be a nun. PING leaves some dolls in YUK's cabinet. HING has serious headache and PING tells him that he is cursed. HING searches everywhere and finds the dolls in YUK's cabinet. HING sends her to HA. HA kills SUET and claims that she has killed herself as she feels guilty. LIN suspects PING. MUI realizes that LIN and PING have changed and PING wants to avenge. She tells CHUNG that she wants to leave.

HING forces CHAI to marry WAN. CHAI runs away but meets WAN on the way. In chaos WAN kills CHAI. MUI witnesses the case and CHUNG arrests WAN. MUI tells tat CHAI has been killed by WAN. HING wants to save WAN by sending her away at night. However CHUNG discovers the case. WAN wants to run away but she falls down and dies. HING wants kill MUI Tor WAN. CHUNG comes and saves MUI. HING sends people to kill them. LIN overhears TO and PING's conservation and learns PING's real intension. She tells HING. HING catches TO and questions her. TO kills herself to protect PING. HING suspects PING and searches her room. Knowing that PING still misses HUI, HING imprisoned PING.

HING wants to kill PING. CHUNG finds KAU and at last he manages to convince KAU to be the witness. He reports to the new official SHEK. HING knows that they have returned. He sends TOI to poison KAU. KAU is unable to speak but he writes the statement. However SHEK misinterprets KAU's idea to protect HING. HING is released. HING thanks SHEK and holds a banquet for him. Besides he gives him a big present. HING accuses CHUNG having taken his maid servant away. CHUNG is arrested. KAU wants to kill HING but he is killed. CHUNG is exiled and MUI is returned to HING by HA. YUET and LAN SIU want to save MUI when they know that HING has caught her.

MUI and KWAI wait in the wood for CHUNG. They meet CHUNG and suddenly the soldier escorting CHUNG attacks CHUNG. MUI protects CHUNG and is hurt seriously. Luckily SUNG KONG comes to kill the soldiers. After telling CHUNG her love, MUI dies. When HING knows that PING's baby is HUI's descendant, he is angry and strangles the baby. PING is in deep grief and LIN still wants to kill her. YUET wants to be a nun and HING allows her to do so. YUET wants to release PING secretly. Can PING escape from HING's palms? Can CHUNG and PING manage to avenge? What will happen to HING, LIN and WONG? All these questions will be answered in the final episode.
