Best movie ever!

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The only thing that the Americans got right in this show was David tennant being cast hence the 4 stars this is nowhere near to the standard that broadchurch was at, please stop these poor remakes. Seriously the Americans can make some amazing shows and they are very original so why do they have to try take off ours and ruin them?

Broadchurch was such a huge hit in the UK that it was inevitable that the US would want to do something with it. Why they couldn't just have bought the rights and shown it as it was I don't know. But anyway, we ended up with this American version, oddly with David Tennant playing the same character...albeit with longer hair.It sort of works. We get two more episodes than the UK version, which allows for more backstory to be filled in, and more twists to occur, but nothing that really we missed in the UK version. The 'different killer' bit, which was the selling point when the show aired here, isn't actually that dramatic, and in fact is a concept we've seen done in soaps lots of time before. It's an honest attempt, but the UK version reigns supreme.

I watched Broadchurch first and thought that it was amazing. The cast was great with their characters. Olivia Coleman did a wonderful job as DS Ellie Miller and David Tennant did a wonderful job as DI Alec Hardy. And the ending where it was Joe Miller who was the killer was just unnerving. I love British shows. However Gracepoint which based on Broadchurch was just as good as the original. Anna Gunn did great and put her own little bits as Detective Ellie Miller. And David had an amazing American accent playing Detective Emmet Carver, though his native Scottish did leak through every once in a while. And his performance when both of his characters, Alec and Emmet, collapsing on the job, OMG. And then the twist of where it isn't Joe who killed Danny, but his best friend, Tom. Just absolutely, positively brilliant. I'd recommend this show to anyone

I just finished watching the last episode and my opinion did not change. The only thing I can say about this show is that it was LAAAAAME. They tried to do something mysterious but it was painfully SLOW. I could not take anymore of the SLOW MOTION scenes also. It was very annoying and also FOX with the hash tag #supecteveryone, kind of destroy the plot. Of course 'someone' did it, of course will be someone we "know"... duh!!!!! Also, the way that the killer was reveled was pathetic, no emotion, no suspense, just blargh... Every character in this show, from episode one had a diarrhea face, the whole time. It was the longest movie I ever watched. My three stars goes like this. One for photography (it was indeed beautiful), the other one for effort (they tried) and the third one for Anna Gunn. On the last scene when the boy is telling: "I never saw anybody else hitting him", I got the "anybody else" right the way, how come the so awesome detective did not caught that? How weak... anyways... try watching "Top of the Lake" and "Les Revenants" instead.
