Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

I think halo: Legends it's a great compilation of stories that help the viewer understand the halo universe. The only problem i see is that it is made for a really small portion of halo fans. Tou have to be a good fan in order to watch this, but not too much, because if you haver read the books and all the stuff you might find it dull. It is made for people like me, passionate halo players, but not passionate enough to read book about halo universe. If you are like me i think you will enjoy it.We can separate the stories in 2 different types: expalnation of halo universe and punctual facts. I found the chapters that refere to the history of halo very informative, and makes you understand lot of what is happening. The other ones were OK, but they didn't say anithing new, spartan II Program was rough for the candidates, spartans are not sociable, ODST and Spartans don't get alone.... Then what i though was a chapter of Dragon Ball, it was like seeing goku and his band fighting the first Sayans, i though that was bullshit, but then i analised what i saw in that chapter and realised it could be the one with the more important information: i saw a UNSC ship with a female IA that still on the ship and descendant of survivors that have a strenght similar to the one of a Spartan. Could that ship be the Spirit of Fire? A ship we don't know of, which carried Sparans II, and that UNSC looks as hidding something about it. Could these people be the descendants of the Spartans? That maybe would explain why they did fight like freaking goku. Or maybe it is just a parode... i hope we will now with the release of halo wars II.

Watching this "movie" makes me wonder if its for Halo fans only. If you are unfamiliar with Halo, this movie will appear disjointed. If you are familiar with Halo but not a die hard fan (ie. like myself) you will find it rather dull, disjointed and disappointing.The movie is a combination of 7 stories by different writers and directors. Hence the disjointed feel as it does not flow from beginning to end.Part 1 - Origins; it explains the halo universe but IMO is a little too preachy about humanity's penchant for war. Even though the intro into the Halo universe was good, the humanity and war angle has been done many many times in Japanese anime. The story line is also very very common in any superhero comics. Found it rather dull.Part 2 - Duel; Interesting artwork. Take the Halo universe and transform it into the samurai era. reminded me of one of the episodes of Samurai Jack.Part 3 - Homecoming; Explains the spartans. Story is flashback on how a spartan "escaped" when younger to get back to her family. Found it very interesting and they could probably create a full lenght feature with this story line. Japanese Anime style.Part 4 - Odd One Out; All I can say is WTF?? How did an episode of Dragon Ball get in here. Basically this is Dragon ball with the same character designs, stupid dialogue and slapstick. Just replace Goku with a Spartan.Part 5 - Prototype; very mech type action oriented. Looks like Gundam. Action is good but (me not being a halo fanatic) don't see the connection with Halo other then the baddies.Part 6 - The Babysitter; A throwback to the 80s style of anime like Robotech or Yamato. Felt like an episode of the shows I mentioned, even the ending. No bad.Part 7 - The package; IMO the best of the parts. If the entire movie was like this I would give it a 10. Great CGI graphics and action scenes. This is the Halo im familiar with. Not much story (recover a package from the enemy fleet) but exciting.While parts of the Halo legends are good and entertaining, as a whole it is disappointing and I admit that for the 1st few parts I was reading a book while watching and it took will power to not stop the movie partway through. Too disjointed and while the concept of different styles seems good, IMO in this case it took away from the flow.

This series of seven stories can't be beat. I love every minute of this series and I still can't believe how good the finale was. The animation is amazing and the voice-overs were excellent. The lipsyching is a little off but I don't care. The action is awesome and the "camera" angles are fantastic. The Package has amazing CGI and when the Spartans are completely covered by their armor they look real. The cartoons are incredibly detailed and so is the blood. The paintings for the duel are great and the energy swords look great. You need to see Halo Legends I gave it a ten out of ten and if that doesn't persuade you to see it I don't know what will. Overall Halo Ledgends is a must see for anyone who enjoys action movies but be forewarned Halo Legends is rated PG-13 for a reason.

ORIGINS I & II 8.5/10 When I Got This Film For My Birthday I Wanted To Watch All Of The Films. This Explains The Origins Of The Halo Universe For People Who Want To Know. The Animation Is Okay. So What Else Is To Say About This Movie? Nothing.THE DUEL 9/10 You Feel For The Arbiter In This Film(Even Though This Isn't The "Arbiter" From The Halo Games) This Is The Story Of The First Arbiter & It Explains To You In Halo 3 Why The Arbiter Said To The Prophet "@$$hole You Must Be Silenced". This Arbiter Has A Duel With Him Fighting An Army (& He Wins(If I Have Done Anything To Insult That Arbiter I Am Sorry)) & A Hunter Fights Him For Honour (& That The Arbiter Is ####ed Off He Killed His Wife). The Watercolour Animation Is Great In This Film. NEXTHOMECOMING 7/10 This Explains The Fact That The SPARTAN II's Were Taken At A Young Age & Given Training For Their Adult Years. You Feel For This SPARTAN & She Is The Most Useful SPARTAN Yet(Excluding SPARTAN 117(Master Chief)). The Animation In This Is Obviously Japanese But That Doesn't Stop It From Being Good.ODD ONE OUT 1/10 When Did Halo Become One 5 Minute Joke? You MAy Ask But I Have The Answer In This Pathetic Film. The Villain Is A Retarted Monkey & I Wish I Could Say Differently To Any Other Character. The Animation Looks Like Retarted Gamera. FANS AVOID.PROTOTYPE 10/10 After Suffering ODD ONE OUT I HAd High Doubts About Watching Another Movie But This Is Actually An Excellent Film That Supresses That High On Drugs Preceeding. This Explains A Platoon That Is In A Croosfire & Their Seargeant Was In Another Platoon That Died. This Explains About A Prototype Suit That Is Like The IRON MAN/WAR MACHINE(Iron Man 2) Armour & The Suit Is Up For Destruction. He Gets The Other Platoon Off The Planet & Fights The Covenant & This Makes The Seargeant Realise What It Means To Be Human By Destroying That Suit & The Covenant In 1 Go. Fans Will Like This One.THE BABYSITTER 8/10 This Consists Of The ODST Squad Teaming Up With SPARTAN To Kill The Prophet. This Film Explains To O'Brien(Best Shooter)To Let The Odd One Out To Have A Try. The Animation Is Great. Babysitter Is A Great FilmTHE PACKAGE 9/10 The Last Film Of The Series. The Film Souly Is About SPARTAN 117 Getting A PAckage Off A Covenant Ship & Retreive It Onto A Cloaked Human Ship. I Have To Say This Film Has The Best Animation Techniques & I Am Not Just Saying That. This Film Also Explains The Origin Of The Arbiter You Play As In Halo 2 & 3(In Halo 3 On Co-Op). Overall This Film Is Great.
