Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
MustangMan44 Inspector Gadget rocks! I wish that they still showed it on TV. I can remember staying up late on Saturday nights with my dad when I was growing up and watching the three stooges and then inspector gadget. I'm going to have to watch out for the seasons on DVD so I can retain those memories. The effects aren't the best when compared to todays standards, but it gives that early eighties feel that makes you think of growing up. I just wish that the show wouldn't of ended and they would have made more episodes. If anybody reading this has any pull on what cartoons are shown on the "old cartoon" channels, see if it would be possible to put it back on air. I'm sure that if a poll was taken, it would show that I'm not the only one that feels this way.
Lee Eisenberg Some years after playing the inept Maxwell Smart, Don Adams played an equally witless agent: Insp. Gadget. Come to think of it, there were plenty of funny contraptions of the previous show (such as the shoe-phone). Now that I think of it, Penny's computer disguised as a book predicted the iPhone by almost twenty years! Like Insp. Clouseau, Gadget causes more accidents than he prevents, saving the day out of dumb luck (although it's actually Penny and Brain who do the work, unbeknownst to Gadget). I would hate to be Chief Quimby: the things that both he and Maxwell Smart's chief have to put up with! I guess that if Dr. Claw actually knew what a moron the inspector is, he and his cat would probably just have the poor sucker shot (which would probably fail).I notice that "Inspector Gadget" got created by DIC, the same studio that created "The Real Ghostbusters" (both featured the voices of Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarche). It would have been neat to do a show in which Gadget and the Ghostbusters have to cooperate on an assignment.Anyway, pretty funny. Yes, I would believe.
Jackson Booth-Millard When I was younger I only watched a couple of episodes of this crime solving guy. He was basically an idiot with gadgets. A little girl named Penny (with a dog) has an uncle called John Brown. In the show he solves crimes for the police with help of his egos, which is why they call him Inspector Gadget. Inside his body are many big and small mechanical materials to help him with his job. He could turn himself into an airbag, he had a helicopter propeller, he could extend his arms, legs and neck, and many other weird and wonderful devices. The only problem was he was an idiot when he used them. I mainly liked this show for the theme tune. Personally, this a lot better than the poor movie, don't bother seeing the movie, just see this! It was number 46 on The 100 Greatest Cartoons. Okay!
Mulliga This is, without a doubt, one of the best children's cartoons ever made.Doodoo doo doo doo Inspector Gadget! Doodoo doo doo doo woohoo!Go Gadget Go! (fanfare - I always loved this part of the song) Go Gadget Go! (fanfare)Doodoo doo doo doo Inspector Gadget! Doodoo doo doo doo woohoo!Inspector Gadget, good-natured, bumbling bionic detective, fights against the evil criminal forces of Dr. Claw and M.A.D.!Really superior to the movie. Dr. Claw is DAMN evil, and very creepy with a sense of humor. Penny saves the day in practically every episode thanks to her clear thinking, fast action, and trusty computer book (WOW - way, WAY ahead of its time). Don Adams is fantastic.Minor SpoilersMemorable Eps - Gadget gets shrunk, Gadget in the man-eating plant garden, Gadget infiltrates M.A.D., Gadget vs. those five little monsters, the chocolate diamond one, the Inca one, the Himalayan Yak's milk one, the Potato Gun one.BEST EP EVER? - The ultra cool one where the Madmobile races the Gadgetmobile!
