This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

The original story is supposed to be a morality play. I guess in this world of Internet porn it is impossible to shock audiences with the original story so it was necessary to fill the void with a cardboard villain and supernatural nonsense. The only thing the exceeds how bad this production is how shocked I am at the number of people that appear to like it... Perhaps I should not be so shocked after all.Over the top acting, absurd supernatural creatures... And apparently a remake of "the league extraordinary gentlemen" to counter a ridiculous villain. What passes for entertainment today never ceases to amaze me.Some have commented that this is a show for the very young... If that's true... Or if it is bad intentionally... Then I could perhaps understand some of the positive reviews... Otherwise... What the heck are you people smoking.

I was really unsure about this initially, it seemed very dark and I thought it was going to be tame, but I really love everything about the programme, the sheer OTT nature of it, the contrast between Richard Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Excellent acting from all concerned, the period settings and scenery enhance the whole series, the various monsters and villains are extremely well thought out - not too many, and just when you think all will be OK, up another pops! Episodes have an unpredictability to them. It will be a travesty if a second series isn't made. Sherlock Holmes with a nice dark twist!!! I do think it needs to be on a bit later though, I would imagine it is a bit frightening for young children.

This is going to be a very intriguing and watchable series. After the first part I was left suitably impressed. They've managed to make a dark, intriguing, rather exciting series.I'm not sure after drawing over 500 complaints after its first episode that it will remain in the 6.30 Sunday teatime slot for long, but with over 3.15 million viewers who knows? I'll certainly be tuning in to watch.Rather good special effects, excellent cinematography, it's a very slickly produced show. The monsters, transformation scenes were really well done.I like the premise of the story, Robert Jekyll is given a back story, he has a love interest, he has a powerful adversary in Sir Roger Bulstrode.Tom Bateman was excellent in the lead role, very strong performance, Richard E.Grant it goes without saying is a fantastic actor, good at playing the bad guy, he's not long played Doctor Simeon, an effective adversary for the Doctor.I am going to enjoy this, old school viewing 8/10

There is no disputing taste. To me the first episode was HORRIBLE! No acting talent spotted, the scenes are cut in hiccups, no credibility to the start of the storyline. Way too many cinematographic styles mixed / unmatched. It almost seems as if several opinions about style are presented all at once in episode 1.A good effort for wardrobes & locations but that could not save the cliché's nor this disastrous waste of money. It is surprising to me that this rolled to the shores from the U.K. Several of the actors performed much better in other productions UNLESS you where the main villain in Hudson Hawk.Personally I would be ashamed to put it on my resume.
