HeadlinesExotic Boring
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
gridoon2018 If there is one thing that I can't keep my mind off during every episode of "Man Vs. Wild" (or "Born Survivor", if you prefer) that I watch is how much the camera & sound crew are the unsung heroes of this show: they do nearly all the dangerous stuff that Bear Grylls does but also have to carry/handle their technical equipment! Fortunately, they get the credit they deserve in some behind-the-scenes specials in the later seasons. Throughout the show, the camerawork is superb, the photography is crystal-clear, the skydiving sequences are breathtaking, and the landscapes are spectacular; the show takes you to the four corners of the earth and everywhere in between and makes you feel like you are teleported there. And Bear Grylls is engaging company - he is fun to watch. Sometimes he does give in to sensationalism and self-promotion, but most of the time he is quite easygoing and down-to-earth for someone of his skills and accomplishments. He is certainly leading a more exciting and rewarding life than our daily grind! His let's-try-this-on spirit is amazing, but he is definitely not a believer in the practice of following the path of least resistance, which can sometimes be frustrating. He is also not superhuman; he makes mistakes. And once in a while, he lets his guard down and gets surprisingly personal. Of course parts of the show are staged, edited and/or pre-arranged (like the points of "rescue"), there is even an opening disclaimer stating that! This is not a documentary or a reality show, it's entertainment and a travelogue and an escape from everyday life and as such it delivers consistently for over 70 episodes. Highly recommended. *** out of 4.
TheEmulator23 This show I liked until it was found out that he didn't actually have to fight much of the Wild. Yeah I knew he had a camera crew, but the big joke is that we have no idea how much help he actually is getting if things get to tough. I can just seem him eating some rotten piece of meat then having the shot edited just so & he's actually eating a power-bar. Yep it's completely ruined now & Bear is a wannabe Les Stroud who actually survives for a week filming everything himself. The fact is the Man vs Wild the very longest I had ever seen was for a maximum of 2-3 days which let's face it anybody can survive w/out food. This is a totally mediocre show that has been ruined because we found out he basically can be put up in a hotel one night, then "Fighting the Wild" the next. Again if you want to see some actually survival, You must watch the much better "SurvivorMan" & skip this cheating mess.
grenier-alex As mush as i find this show entertaining... i feel kinda riped off when watching it. the show is based around one man Bear Grylls surviving various places in the world. As original as this sounds i find it was a blatant ripoff of Survivorman. But as Survivorman has the host actually surviving and doing his own camera work, Bears is fallowed by his own camera crew and has admitted to staying in a hotel for a night and not staying outside...also during one episode, he is building a shelter then says that he is happy he is not staying in the shelter that he is building for the night. But watching the show alone one would never know... it creates a good fakes atmosphere of danger around the host.As fake as the show is, we cannot take away the entertainment value it has, Bear is a excellent host. Armed with his charisma he makes getting lost interesting and fun. Also seeing his make stunts, one example from the show is him climbing a 50 meters cliff to get out of a gorges with no climbing gear, is thrilling. Lastly as mush as the entertaining... it has main purpose is too teach survival techniques... and this is were is fails the most cause he either uses tools no one would have if they were stranded or fails by doing some stunt instead. In conclusion this is a fine show if you think of it as a travel/show stunt.. but fails in comparison to other shows wish have mastered what this show tries to be.Go watch Surviverman is you want real survival tips/ not faked survival or watch this is you want entertainment.
doomsdaydave11 This gets my vote for one of the worst wastes of my time. Man vs. Wild is a complete copy of the original Survivorman. Not only is it a copy of another show, but it is also a scam. It has been proved that everything has been faked. One of the bears was faked, fish in streams were planted, he sleeps in a hotel for the night. Even if it wasn't a scam, and the show was indeed authentic, his logic doesn't make any sense. He climbs a 100 foot tree just to get "his bearings", and does things like biting a raw fish's head off when he has a fire right next to him, or drinking his own urine. What kind of survivor drags along a full camera crew to his trip? Do yourself a favor and watch the original, authentic show, "Survivorman"
