McKinney travels to the Canadian shores of Lake Erie to learn everything there is to know about birding and birdwatching. Over the course of his visit, he embarks on a journey to the Long Point Nature Preserve, tags and releases birds at a Birds Canada outpost, and accompanies his host to a tattoo parlor where birding memories aren’t just made, but painfully memorialized.

Mark McKinney joins his hobbyist host, Aurora, and travels to Ontario's Kawarthas to spend two days living as a 14th century knight. With pavilions and tents pitched in the middle of a field, Mark will dress, eat, live, and sleep in a wholly medieval world – where he will also help with cooking, try his hand at archery, learn longsword techniques, take in a duel between two knights, and, ultimately, perform a bespoke "medieval stand up comedy set" as his offering to the May Queen who presides over the weekend events.

Synopsis

Follow actor and writer Mark McKinney as he embarks on an epic quest to answer perhaps the most pressing question of our age – who are we when we’re not working? Mark travels throughout North America to meet the world’s most audacious hobbyists, and the communities of like-minded obsessives who nurture them, all to find that one, true, perfect hobby he can claim as his own.

Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
