Breakinger A Brilliant Conflict
Twilightfa Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
david_bodor I started watching Iron Fist immediately when it came out but I knew only a very little about his lore and honestly I enjoyed the show but it didn't really blow me away, it was the "eh its okay I guess" category. But then years later, when I heard that there's a 2nd season coming I said to myself, I have nothing to watch lets rewatch this show and by God was I surprised. After all the details from watching all the other Marvel Netflix shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Defenders) this show just somehow became a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There are SO many references and hints and plot points that you will not understand on a first watch especially not if you haven't watched The Defenders yet or the other Marvel Netflix shows. I do not want to spoil it for people who, I suggest go back and experience it all again. I expected Iron fist to just constantly use his powers when I first watched it and was disappointed that he didn't, as I called it back then "there's not enough iron fisting".Well now that I understand the story a bit better I know why that's the case, Danny's story isn't that of a master, yes he has powers but they're in their infancy still, this is only the start of his story, they never really showed a timeline of how long Danny stayed in Kun Lun after getting the Iron Fist so I didn't pick up on it on a first watch but I'd imagine it was only a couple months at best now after a rewatch.
wizardofdelphi There are things to like about Iron Fist, but the lead character Danny Rand isn't one of them. I'm not sure if its the actor himself or the writers and director(s) around him but scenes with Danny Rand range from "meh" to being painful to watch. Its just poor. Another review compared Finn Jones in this to Hayden Christensen in Star Wars and they were right, both were equally terrible performances. So many actors in Iron Fist are excellent and do a great job. Frankly if the Iron Fist had returned home to Kun-Lun and the series had continued with the other characters it would have been MUCH more interesting.Danny Rand is just childish, sloppy, annoying, naive and basically no fun to watch. One good example is towards the end he ends up in this camp where another sensai shows him some moves to recharge his chi. The performance here by Finn is laughable, the two are doing the moves next to each other and Finn, who is supposed to be his legendary martial artist, is so completely sloppy it is shocking. All I could sit there and wonder is if Finn is hideously terrible or if the show has absolutely no one knowledgeable about martial arts to prep/train him for these scenes. It was laughable.Netflix either needs to drop Iron Fist from their Marvel lineup or some mythical thing needs to occur that ends up transforming Danny Rand to look like a different person. So it really depends on if its the lead actor who's mostly failing or if credit for the failure is shared with the writers and directors. WIth it being this bad I'm guessing its a team fail.By comparison Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil are excellent and have great actors giving great performances. Which makes the failure of Finn Jones stand out all the more. I love how Netflix has its own little Marvel universe and city-scale Avengers going on, brilliant idea. But Iron Fist is dead weight pulling down the great shows around it. Which is sad because there are good actors doing good work in Iron Fist, but Finn Jones drags down every scene he is in.
emmagallagher-22329 I actually love this show it's really good I don't know why y'all are hating on it so much. The only reason I didn't give 10 is because Danny made me cringe so much. Like ALL the time. Boy knows nothing. Good though.
hhhccchc The amount of hate towards this show is completely out of context. Apparently some people are claiming, that it contains whitewashing, that it is poorly written etc. To me, this criticism is not deserved at all. Jones is a perfect match for Danny Rand. The relation you build to Danny Rand is completely outstanding, you can really feel the sorrow and despise towards everything "evil". Already from these elements, the show is just great, without even commenting on the relation betweeen Danny and Colleen, which is also great. Colleen is a very likeable character, which is a critical factor for the show to go from mediocre to outstanding. The storyline is impeccable, the constant references to other Marvel Defenders is a result of writing of the highest class. Stop the hate towards Iron Fist, Finn Jones fills a tough roll to perfection. The only reason for all the hate, is a premade assumption from a group of people, that really wanted the show to suck.
