The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
ChicDragon
It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

The title of the film is Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir. It is a cartoon. It is about adventures Ladybug & Cat Noir (Marinette and Adrien). It is not based on a book. The film is set in Paris in France. The film is set in modern times. In the film doesn't play any stars. Marinette and Adrien plays the mein roles. My favorite character is Adrien because kehe is very cute.

I was searching for something good to watch and I found this show with a 8.5 rating and great reviews so I thought: "Wow, awesome" and then I watched it... it wasn't bad... but definitely not good. The CGI is good, the people and backgrounds are great, especially for a show like this but sometimes there is way too much movement which made me think: "this should have been in 2D" but it's still visually impressive so that's a good point for the show. The fight scenes are good too. Cat Noir's power is awesome. Ladybug's power is... original... I'm sorry, I think her power is lame, getting a random object that somehow end up saving the day, this is a power McGyver should have, not a magical girl. But like I said, overall, the fight scenes are good. The music is good, the voices match the characters and it got a few laugh out of me so nothing bad to say here. But the thing that killed this show for me is... THE PLOT. More precisely, the plot progression or lack of it in this case. Basicaly, you can watch the first 2 episodes and then go directly to episode 22 without missing anything. No new characters, no character disappearance, no twist, nothing. I am not joking, I had to re-watch it to make sure of it but the first two episodes introduce you to the important characters and it is finally in episode 22 that a new important character appears. I was waiting for something to happen mid-season, as something usually happen in other shows, but there was nothing. The plot even goes backward, yeah the season final, which is usually supposed to be some conclusion to a part of the story, show you how the main characters got their powers. So the last two episodes, are actually the first two episodes. So in conclusion, it's watchable, but not the greatest show I've seen this year, or even this month. I'm definitely waiting for season 2 in hope the story will finally move forward but if like me you get bored and disappointed at the mid-season just know you can skip to episode 22 without worry.

The episodes are a bit repetitive, but still very creative and unpredictable. We know the Lady will win in the end, but it's always a surprise how. The two leads are very well balanced and likable, and the series manages to create enough interest. Marinette herself is a very great role model, but still feels well rounded enough to be sincere, and the audience finds it easy to root for her and Adrien, the secondary lead; and there is enough tension between the two to keep it compelling. But I really hope the series develops on the premise and on the conflict for the plot, rather than use it to keep propelling a status quo. Even with the series' great premise, anything gets repetitive if done for too long. Hopefully this great series can become a REALLY great series, and with its large fanbase it'd certainly be so gratifying. Here's to season two!

What I saw: The entire first season mainly in French with English subtitles, some in the English dub and some Korean dub with English subtitles ---I don't mind that the show starts off with little to no background information on where the powers came from, who Hawk Moth is or why any of this is happening. What does bother me is why we're only getting this information as the season final? That's far too many episodes when the series is otherwise very formulaic.I had almost completely abandoned the series because of lack-of- backstory-and-character-development titchy-ness. Comparing the series to the drips of back-information we get from something like Steven Universe, Ladybug just increasingly seemed as through it would be a cut-and-dry formulaic series where we get little to no plot advancements or character developments whatsoever.Having said that, I'm a sucker for Magical Girl series and yes, I fell for our protagonists in their cute romcom subplot, so I continued nonetheless hoping for something. My main problem with the series isn't even the lack of backstory, it's a character. Her name is Chloe. She never learns from her mistakes, and she's responsible for half of the Akumas. I hope she gets some character development soon because her cliché arse is seriously doing my nut in. Minor annoyances include; The animation. While it looks good for the most part with attractive designs, it does have some strange points where there seems to be far too much movement. I've read some of the history behind it's development and apparently, it was conceived to be a 2D anime-style show. Apparently the anime-estique comedic movements don't translate well from 2D to CG. If that's what they're supposed to be The dialogue. I have no problems with the voice acting from any of the versions I watched, but some of the dialogue can get weird. It's especially evident in the English language version and I can't tell if it's just because I'm an English speaker, or that the dubbing dialogue was just weirder. I don't have the time to actually compare so I can only guess The spandex costumes. I have no real problem with the paper-thin disguises, but I can't help but find "Teens In Spandex" a little odd. They're what? 14? 16 at the oldest? but at least there's no "panty shots" like other Magical Girl series (looking at you, Japan). ---On a final note, I'm glad I stuck with it. It's given me some decent giggles with the romcom aspects (I can be a sucker so long as it's packaged with magic and action), and I am interested in who Hawk Moth is and what his game is. Though, I am dismayed that Season 2 won't start airing until 2017.I try to be very strict with ratings so my overall rating for this is 6/10 Stars. Starting off as only 3 Stars, it has grown on me to a degree where I would continue to follow the series, and even giving it one whole star above the minimum for "I will watch this" just for my giggles.I hope that Season 2 would give the series another star because there's potential that I'd like to see explored
