Memorable, crazy movie

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

P.J. Franklin (Jordana Spiro) is a sports reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times covering the Cubs. She hosts poker games for her friends, and they hang out at the local bar. There's Kenny Morittori (Michael Bunin) and Mike Callahan (Jamie Kaler) who owns a sports memorabilia shop. Brendan Dorff (Reid Scott) is her college roommate who crashes at her place for extended periods. Her lawyer brother Andy Franklin (Jim Gaffigan) often lies to his wife to sneak into the game. Bobby Newman (Kyle Howard) is a reporter from another paper and new to the group. Stephanie Layne (Kellee Stewart) is her only close girl friend. This is a standard single gal sitcom. The group is a fun bunch. I love Gaffigan who leaves after three seasons. Kyle Howard is not the usual romantic lead type. Spiro has an easy nature but she could be more tomboyish. The biggest missing aspect of this show is her job. There is one great episode about the gang at spring training. The show could do more with her work. Otherwise, this is a well made standard sitcom with a very likable cast.

I absolutely adore My Boys. As a shopaholic girly girl teenager, this seriously means something. The jokes are witty, sly, and very cheeky. Its not Seinfeld; there's no laugh-track (thank god!) and there's real intellect in the script. The characters are not only hilarious, but easy to relate to.I love dresses and shoes and Gossip Girl, but i love My Boys more. It makes me wish I had a group of guy friends which I could talk about baseball with (a secret passion) and make funny jokes or watch them have a mustache growing contest. This show is seriously for everyone! There's just...MORE to My Boys than everyone hooking up, like on most shows. Its no The Office, but as far as TBS goes, its up there.

I was home one night and found this show on. So I watched the one episode. Wow...Loved it! Then during the super bowl every episode from Season 1 was on TBS. I watched every single one. I have never laughed so much in my life. And talk about good looking guys. I have loved Kyle Howard for years. And the guy who plays Brandon .......wow. And PJ is the best. She is so funny and down to earth. What an excellent cast. So entertaining and you feel like you are right there living it up with them. I was completely into every episode. Can't wait for the next season.Way to go TBS!!! D. Irwin

My husband and I enjoy this show tremendously. We watch it together, and find it funny and realistic. We were sorry to see the season over so quickly and can't wait for the new episodes. We've enjoyed every episode, with the acting superb and the different relationships well established. It is a witty show and the cast has great chemistry. Spiro is excellent in her role; we find her comedic timing very good. I can relate to what she goes through, as a female in a male-dominated profession. Jim Gaffigan is a riot, even though he needs to have a bigger role. Also, my husband is dying to get an Andy t-shirt from the birthday bash episode!! Keep up the good work, as this show has the ability to be a long-term hit!!
