This is How Movies Should Be Made
Afouotos
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Quiet Muffin
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

Many years ago, I occasionally watched some part of Newton episodes with my children, and I remember to this day a certain fascination. Now at age 53, finding a 3 DVD set of season 2 in the bargain bin (1 each), 26 episodes or some 300 minutes worth, I couldn't resist. With slight hesitation I put the first disk in the player.. and ended up watching the whole bunch, slightly exhausted at 1am.This is powerful stuff with many surprising, weird but good ideas, which I tend to rank close to Simpsons or Futurama. Or, in a quite different vein, Ned and Newton are somehow comparable to Charlie Brown and Snoopy (also, the simple drawing style, Ned's free-flying eyebrows and hairs...). However, I can't but agree to one commenter at TV.com that Newton has some striking similarity with the genie in Disney's Aladdin - blue, voice-imitating shape-shifter.Seemingly simple kiddie cartoons, with a lot of content that it takes an adult or two to really appreciate... cultural references, especially to movies, lasting just a split-second. Blink and you missed it.Of last night's tour de force, I had the strongest impressions from the episodes dealing with alphabet soup, Bremen, New York alligators, and a giant shoe. But I'll re-watch them soon, hoping to understand more of the plentiful subtle allusions :^)

This is one of those cartoons that you feel is squarely aimed at teenagers, as they will get the most out of all the oblique pop culture references, the fast-paced slapstick, and the sheer surrealism of it all!It is, however, truly enjoyable. Worth getting up for without a doubt!
Know it all
There had never been a better show about a giant six foot newt harassing a big-eared child. And that speaks volumes!"Ned's Newt" is one of those shows you never read about in the paper, but it's still one of the best animated television shows out there.Ned is cute and all, he really is, but he doesn't hold a candle to the real star of the show - Newton the newt! This little purple entity can become hilariously funny once fed Zippo. And when that thing grows, there will be no end to the word play and the pop culture jokes. It's like seeing "The Mask" meet "Ren and Stimpy", only much much better. So if you're looking for a laugh, look no further! It's not just an animated show, it's fun for kids and adults alike, only in different ways. The kids will enjoy the fast pace animation and the slapstick humor, while as the adults will find references to Shakespeare and Bill Gates spleen rupturing hilarious!See it!
