Synopsis

Neighbours is an Australian television soap opera. The show's storylines concern the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The series primarily centres around the residents of Ramsay Street, a short cul-de-sac, and its neighbouring areas, the Lassiters complex, which includes a bar, hotel, cafe, news office and park. Neighbours began with three families created by Watson – the Ramsays, the Robinsons and the Clarkes. Watson said that he wanted to show three families who are friends living in a small street. The Robinsons and the Ramsays had a long history and were involved in an ongoing rivalry.

Fluentiama Perfect cast and a good story
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Claire Dunne One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Toxicwasteland Neighbours is a fantastic situation comedy, huge in all areas, such as cast, episodes and laughs. Neighbours was so real it felt as if you were sitting next to the regular barflys of the most endearing watering hole in TV history.Neighbours is a sitcom that deserves to be remembered as a classic. Hopefully, in twenty years from now, it will still be doing the rounds on cable TV. Only time will tell. The characters are so well-rounded that the joy comes simply from watching them interact. As far as I can remember almost every episode of Neighbours ended with someone smiling or laughing, and it's that sense of warmth that is so rare in television, that it makes Neighbours stand tall amongst any competitor, then OR now. I feel wholly justified in calling Neighbours the best program ever made. It's just that good.
Sian Gregory I am so angry at the writers of neighbours. For years i have come home from school and watched this quality Australian soap. However recently it has gone down down down. They have introduced too many new characters, filled with too many cliché stories, im not even going to waste my time explaining them. At the moment it is so boring and predictable to watch. The original characters are slowly fading away now and it really isn't worth watching. If you are a new neighbours watcher you will most likely watch this, if you were a loyal neighbours fan, probably haven't watched it for a while, don't bother watching it you will be deeply upset but its catastrohic downfall.(if thats spelt right)ARGH!
skip_764 Firstly, I'll give an outline of the show in a few words (spoilers: maybe). A bunch of people live on fictional Ramsay street who all suffer a whole bunch of of tragedies from breakups to deaths. There... that's it.When I first started watching it I didn't mind it at all, it wasn't to bad, then it started getting crap. How many times can you come up with the same storyline? To demonstrate... I'll just show some of the story lines that are repeated a couple of billion times a year. Consequently, this can also give a general outline of the plots for several years to come from now. If you wanted to know what happens with neighbours next year, this is it! 1.someone accidentally gets pregnant.2.a young teenaged couple get together generally followed by a messy and horrible breakup (as an example, Goodrem/ and that black haired dude whose name I can't remember).3.someone gets married... followed by some tragedy and/ or death.4.or... my favorite... someone dies!Still... occasionally there are some original story lines that pop up in the show, none of which made me continue watching. You can only do the same story so many times.I agree with one of the reviewers when they said that the most interesting characters are the pets. I think my favorite at the moment is the scully dog (if he is still there). They are more interesting than the actors, most of which are not very good (there are a few exceptions) and make me want to laugh at the show every time I accidentally come across it.well... just to finish off and to put it in a nutshell, the show would be more interesting if it weren't shown 364 out of 365 days of the year. (I might be over exaggerating that number, but I'm sure it comes pretty close).
kelleherproductions Neighbours is the only soap opera that doesn't live you depressed by the end of it. Although the plots are sometimes a little obscure (the whole psycho Sindi thing, for example), the characters are on the whole extremely well developed and realistic. There is a great sense of community and family about the show, both on and off set. The street is always sunny, and a great sense of comedy balances the more dramatic story lines. Neighbours is now branching out into even more dramatic stories than before, and each episode leaves the viewer on a tantalising cliff hanger. With the return of Paul Robinson, we can expect even more explosive story lines. Having said this, Neighbours is still a family show, and the stories are all character driven. Neighbours has a winning formula that will ensure it lasts another twenty years and more.
