There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.

an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

This remake is a non-stop action overwhelming thrill ride along with brilliant martial arts, the writers are clever with the character arcs, situations and circumstances. There are some dark elements, but the action scenes outweigh that.Overall, Nikita is a brilliant TV Series, and there isn't a show as good as this so far.The very ending season finale episode however could have done with some changes - the scene where "Nikita" locks "Amanda" in that hardcore prison like that is inhumane, we see that "Amanda" was going to do the same to "Nikita", but that scenario should have been completely changed, they should have just had "Amanda" locked up in a normal prison, not a SUPERMAX prison. The writers obviously wanted to give the viewers a satisfied feeling of revenge, but if you're a Christian as i am - that ending that they went with shouldn't sit well with you, why not just put her in a regular prison - THAT's punishment enough, now what they've done with the ending that they went with is bring "Nikita" down to "Amanda"'s level.Apart from that scene, all the series - seasons 1, 2, 3 & 4 are excellent.

I've just started watching. I cannot add much about the action that hasn't been said by scores of other reviewers, so I'll focus on the glamor. But before I do, it is absolutely unnecessary to bicker about this not being in the mild of the originals. I haven't seen those, except for Bridget Fonda's POINT OF NO RETURN nowadays known as ASSASSIN, and when that appeared, the promos showed bits of the Luc Besson movie. But what does it matter if this show is different from its forerunners? Had it been a frame-by-frame remake, you'd have yelled plagiarism! Hang on to your fond memories, this one doesn't delete them, so just enjoy it in its own right. There is plenty to enjoy. Maggie Q is an excellent choice. She is a well-preserved 31 year-old in the part of a 27 year- old with nice long legs that is hopefully going to be shown off with the same kind of spectacular effect as in the first episode. Loved that barefoot scene where she came out of the bathroom on her way to the dresses and computer. Was surprised that the red swimsuit scene with the guy in the pool turned out to be a dream. It was amazingly well filmed, and she sure can run, hot damn!My current sensation though, is Lynsy Fonesco. Wow, that pretty face! Brings out all those protective urges! But watch it, what's this at the end? All's not as it seems?I would advise all you action lovers to get around to this one. Pretty girls + fast & furious action sequences = you will be hooked!

Nikita is undoubtedly one of the best spy/assassin shows I've ever seen and is the rare exception where a remake is better than the original (and in this case any of the other remakes as well). Maggie Q, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Shane West are the core of this series and their acting ability makes some of the more outlandish elements of this show believable. The first half of season one is especially amazing... maybe the best start to a show in years. There is a bit of a drop off after that point that carries through season two and into season three before another drop-off halfway through season three becomes slightly above average. But season four brings things full circle and ends great. The show had some hiccups along the way but the plot development, acting, and characters make the show a must watch.

I was really into Covert Affairs and when I ran out of episodes, I started to watch Nikita. This show was so much more than I expected. I love that it starts after she escapes and after she trains Alex and gets her clean. This provides a unique starting point to the show. Though the action and the missions are awesome, the relationships and morals of the show are amazingly strong. The character development plays a huge role, both for Nikita, Alex, and supporting characters. The plot line never gets stale, there is always a new motivation for Nikita or an unexpected turn of events. The way the fourth season finishes up is a killer--while I hate to see the show go, CW ended it right. Nikita is a show that is real; from it's treatment of issues like drug addiction and human trafficking, to the evolving relationships, to the strength of a heroine who has complex emotions and is still a total BAMF. I love Nikita and recommend it highly.
