Spoonixel Amateur movie with Big budget
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
zsofikam Ever since I was little, I have been a fan of Oswald. I found it and still to this day find it to be cute, simple, and charming. There's so much to love about this show but I'll name some things. The animation, like the animation for Max & Ruby and Maisy, has a storybook-like quality to it, as well as appearing almost felted like the animation in Little Bill, both qualities that I find very appealing. Each unique character, including Oswald (an octopus), his dog Weenie (a hotdog on a leash), and friends that include Henry (a penguin) and Daisy (a flower); as well as Johnny (a snowman ice cream vendor) and the butterfly (and mother of a caterpillar) who runs the diner are a very positive happy bunch. What else is there to say? As mentioned, Oswald is so cute and sweet, as are his other friends. Two other noteworthy things: the lessons and the relaxation factor. To this day, I sometimes find myself dozing off to this show. It's a very calm show, a nice break from kid's shows that are overstimulating to an adult. The messages are very positive and well presented without feeling forced and are perfect for toddlers (not giving up, acceptance, forgiveness, etc). The stories are easy to follow and capture a young child's imagination.
Jimmy In response to the Social Worker who was worried that children would grow up and learn that Oswald was the name of a murderer and somehow this would cause them stress- I must say that is about the silliest thing I have ever heard. Lee Harvey Oswald, of course, has two other names as well, should we likewise ban Lee and Harvey? Will listening to Paul Harvey or watching Harvey Kietel in a movie be a traumatic experience? I know I am being a little over the top here, but I I'm just trying to make a point. If these kids (and my daughter is one of them) grow up attaching a good connotation to "Oswald" then the show has successfully rescued an unpopular name.By the way, I'm sure the name "Oswald" was chosen because it begins with an "O" thus "Oswald the Octopus." I heard the first two choices for names were "Orenthal" (as in Orenthal James Simpson) and Othello (of Shakespeare fame)and strange enough- they both were murderers too!
devon1975 The only thing annoying about this kids' show is that when you watch it, you have a hard time placing the voices with the actors. But isn't that what IMDB is for?? A really sweet show for the 2-3 year-old set. Repetition is a well known learning tool for that age group, and the episodes I've seen use that well.
gr8fuldead102180 I saw this show when I was babysitting and the kids watched it. I thought it was so cute and sweet. Not annoying like Barney. Well written. Oswald and his friends are so adorable. I love how the Dachsund is a hot dog in a bun. Henry, the penguin, is way cool. All the voices on this show are perfect for their characters. A very cute, somewhat funny (i. e. the dog is a hot dog and bun), all around fun and quality show. I recommend it.
