Synopsis

Phenomenon was a competition show judged by mystifier Uri Geller and illusionist Criss Angel and hosted by Tim Vincent which debuted live on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 on NBC. The show featured ten contestants competing to become the next great mentalist, to be determined by viewers voting by phone and online. The contestants performed their effects on celebrity guests each week. The winner of Phenomenon would win $250,000. On October 30, 2007, during an interview with Larry King about the show, Angel said "No one has the ability, that I'm aware of, to do anything supernatural, psychic, talk to the dead. And that was what I said I was going to do with Phenomenon. If somebody goes on that show and claims to have supernatural psychic ability, I'm going to bust them live and on television." The winner of the first season was Mike Super. The series was cancelled on April 2, 2008, after NBC announced its 2008–2009 schedule.

HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Perry Mercer (Blackace) The only good thing about the show was having Criss Angel and Uri Gellar calling out the would be magicians on their poor attempts to deceive them. The best episode was when Criss Angel told one guy that he was a phony and was going to bet him money to prove it. The guy obviously didn't bite, but was eventually sent packing. Out of the mentalist (illusionist) on the show, only two of them were really any good. The rest were either terrible, boring or just not fun to watch. Obviously the show has been cancelled, and I can understand why. I didn't understand why they needed celebrities there to assist them. They could have just picked anyone from the audience. Maybe if Uri or Criss had performed some tricks of their own it might have been more interesting. Thankfully this will never see the light of day on DVD. If you missed it, be happy you did.
Hiwa Afandi The show supposed to astonish you, well it is not exactly that. I have even doubts that the whole thing might be a setup. why do they have celebrities do the job always? While it is based on an excellent idea, the show is looking bad because it looks like they are faking things. For example the guy who talked to the dead people was so lame, the Russian roulette player with snakes seems to fake something when he fakes how much pain he has. so I agree that it could be much better, I had higher expectations but the others may like it more than me.And I don't know why they have not invited someone like David Blain there?
