I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

a "simple" Disney-like film. It does not have depth in neither the characters nor the story. Indeed, the story of Sigfried is mixed up with another story, that of Tristan et Isolde, so if you have read either of them (I know, there are several versions) you are a little baffled by the liberty the director mixed both. Its a pity though, that the mix did not result in a great movie but rather in this rather simple, oh-my-hero film. a "simple" Disney-like film. This is an excellent movie. It has another name too. Dark Kingdom: Dragon King. And If you are the type of guy who enjoys Lord of the ring type movies with sword fight and magic. You will love it. The story line is so well narrated with twist and turn. The acting is very well done in the movie. Loved k Loken. She has done her role superbly. The movie has a decent pace and does not let one feel bored or dragged into it. AS i said, you will love if if you enjoys time period movies. In search of good movie, i started watching movies from different countries and bump to this one. The movie has medieval touch. It If n e one knows similar movie to this one, please reply.

In this Sunday of raining I started to watch TV Italian TV after lunch, and "Ring Of the Nibelungs" seemed to be the only acceptable thing to watch. I don't watch much TV and most of all fantastic movie for children as I wrongly thought this was at the beginning. First of all this may not be movie for children. On the other hand I realized it was not poor in any sense. It tells the story of Eric, a blacksmith, who goes to fight the dragon, wash himself with his blood, making his skin invincible, and take to his own kingdom its damned gold. This challenge will be the beginning and not the end for him, specially after he knows that he is Siegfried, heir of a kingdom, and that he can fight and marry queen Brunhild of Island. They both love each other. Well directed, it never get boring, and most important banal, or childish. All the actors made a good job, specially, I think, the beautiful Kristanna Loken, and king Gunther, Samuel West. You won't see great things in here. It is simply well done. After this afternoon it goes on my favorite's movie list. A very nice movie.

I am truly amazed at how little publicity this film has received in the background of attention that has been directed towards the Lord of the Rings trilogy in recent years. The casting and acting is absolutely superb and there is not one character that is under-represented in any fashion. The movie begins with very strong undertones and tells the story of a young boy having to grow up quite suddenly in a world of nobility entangled with treachery, deceit and ulterior motives. This movie has something for everyone, expertly combining plenty of action, fantasy and magic with excellent story telling, romance, humor and revenge. You'll be a "tough nut to crack" if you are disappointed by this masterpiece which unfolds superbly throughout it's 164 minutes of length (yes, that's right, just over two and half hours that flies by without even realizing). Do not miss out on this!!
