Synopsis

Rocko is a wallaby who has emigrated to America from Australia. He lives in O-Town and tries to get through life but, of course, comes across a multitude of dilemmas and misadventures he must get through. Other characters include Rocko's best friend, Heffer, a steer who has been raised by wolves, Filbert, a paranoid hypochondriac turtle, Rocko's faithful (but none-too-bright) dog Spunky, and Ed Bighead who detests Rocko and hates having him for a next door neighbor. On this show, Rocko has such adventures as trying to adapt to a new vacuum cleaner, having Heffer move in temporarily after his parents kick him out, and going to a movie theater.

Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
invaderyoukochan Me and my late sister (who died in a car crash) watched this show on Nick Japan back in the end of the 1990s and then again in English very early during the turn of the 2010s. So every time I see this show, I think of her. Alot of the SpongeBob staff worked on this show first, and the plots and characters are pretty similar: Rocko and SpongeBob, Heffer and Patrick, Ed and Squidward, Spunky and Gary, etc. My favorite episode has to be the one where Rocko visited his uncle who lives in Texas; my sister always thought he was badass. Watching that episode now makes me miss my sister, even though she could be annoying at times, we still bonded over Rocko and I do know she at least liked Sonic.
mattiasflgrtll6 This was from a time where not every animated kids show had to be made with the same boring, uncreative "impressive" graphics done by a computer. You just can't beat old-fashioned cel animation. But that's not what I want to talk about the most here. When I first saw an episode of this, "Fly Burgers", I wasn't particularly impressed. I thought it tried too hard to be slapstick, zany and quirky. But then I gave it a few more episodes and you know what? It's really good. This show is LADEN with all kinds of obvious to not so obvious innuendos, social satire, disturbing themes... well, you get the idea! I'm not saying it's not a great cartoon for kids, it's just that teens and older will find it even funnier, since there's so much more than just slapstick comedy, even though I got to appreciate it a lot more later. Carlos Arlasraqui does a very charming voice for the main character Rocko and while the cast of side characters might not be the most impressive, the ones that show up are well-written and funny. Also, if you look closer, you can see a few connections between this and the show SpongeBob. Stephen Hillenberg who created that show is one of the writers, Tom Kenny who voiced the main character there voices Heffer here and Mr. Lawrence who does additional voices there does the voice as Filbert! Pretty cool, isn't it? With everything from talking colons and clothes coming to life to Mr. Bighead coming out of the closet as clown (wink, wink) to two of the main characters visiting Hell! Like, I said, not really a kids show, is it? ;) If you haven't checked this gem out yet, go ahead and watch some episodes right away, you won't regret it!
Dan The Man Even though I was born in 1995, I still would watch this show when I was younger even with my older brothers. I would also watched other stuff with them such as 'Kenan & Kel' and 'Rugrats'. 'Rocko's Modern Life' is a classic and one of the best cartoons that Nickelodeon pulled out in the 90's. The characters are well loved and well developed. The story lines are great and humorous because they tell a good message in each episode and had a lot of sexual innuendos, which were very funny. I can't imagine one person in the world not liking this. This show had great depth and quality into it and the animation was also well done. So, 'Rocko's Modern Life' is about a wallaby named Rocko, who lives his everyday life with his two best friends, Heffer, a steer, and Filbert, a turtle. Rocko has a pet dog named Spunky and has neighbors who get irritated by Rocko, who's names happen to be Ed and Bev Bighead and they're frogs. Both are married, but the wife enjoys Rocko's company a lot more than his husband. I think this show is great for your child and I would recommend it to anyone at any age. The adult humor is pretty clever where kids would never get to understand like the older audience would. It's basically hidden and not that noticeable and the writers of the show were pretty smart of doing it too. It's a shame how Nickelodeon has gotten these days. Today's shows are pretty overrated and way more popular than the classics were. Shows such as 'iCarly', 'Victorious', and 'Big Time Rush' are extremely over the top and shouldn't get as much popularity as they have now and it's a little sad. Even the shows before them such as 'Drake & Josh' and 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide' didn't have as much popularity, which is why the 90's (and a little bit of the 2000's) had much more thought and cleverness into them, so go check this show out if you love classic stuff and I bet your kids would love it as much as I did.
dbfluteguy567 Rocko's Modern Life was about a wallaby named Rocko and his dog Spunky moving from Austrailia to the United States. He befriends Heffer, a steer raised by wolves, and Filbert, a self-conscious turtle. The show follows his crazy antics as he tries to transition into the American lifestyle. Rocko works at Kind-of-a-Lot-of-Comics and has to put up with his angry neighbor, Mr. Bighead, who does not care for Rocko and his friends. The shows humor is some of the best that Nick has ever aired. There is farting and burping jokes for the kids, and there is hidden adult humor for the older people watching. Rocko is not really a kids show, but it is simply brilliant. The plot is simple enough, but it is the humor that makes it a truly great show.Kid: "Daddy, my teacher said whenever a car gets its gas cap, an angel gets its wings." Father: "Your teacher is full of snot!" 10/10
