Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

Now to call it a cop show is misleading. It has turned into "Dallas With a Badge",with everyone sleeping together, having unwed babies, and the new standard of alternative lifestyles. I'm all for real life stories, but it's more "Days of Our Lives", than "Kojak".They could do so much more with this if they wanted, but I guess sex sells. I'm not asking for "CSI", but at least 75% of the show is their screwed up personal lives. The show needs more in house/out of house balance. And get rid of Moore and his character. He started out a jerk that no department,(no matter who his father was) would keep after his constant screw-up's and inability to think on his feet, or sitting down.I find him just an irritating character and does nothing to enhance the show.

On the first day on the job the five police rookies who are the focus of Rookie Blue are told that forget what you learned in the Police Academy. The Academy is about rules, the street is where rules are twisted and bent for the sake of justice.Rookie Blue in terms of structure is most like Hill Street Blues from the other side of the 49th parallel. That was also about a precinct, but its perspective comes from the commanding officer or top down. Here it is from the bottom up as we see the precinct in Rookie Blue from the freshest faces in the place. The five rookies are Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Enuka Okuma, Travis Milne, and Charlotte Sullivan. The main focus is Peregrym who is carrying the police legacy of a father who was once a prominent homicide detective, but has gone to seed. This is a nice Canadian police series. Wonder why it wasn't picked up south of the border?

OK..so it's fiction. The show is filled with various facets of human emotion-friendship,duty,love,etc.. So it does not really showcase what really goes on in a cop's line of duty, but seriously ,would you watch the show if it showed so much of just that? It's TV entertainment and hey,it's supposed to entertain! As far as I am concerned ,I get my share of really good looking cops and their cop drama,a dose of their personal lives and yep, that entertains me alright. It's not meant for people who are looking for hard core police action simply because it's a light cop drama. And of course,it's fiction..it's not a cop reality show..I don't see a reason to complain..it's totally entertaining, totally digest-able.

Rookie Blue is a fun show that always gets better as the season moves along. It is nice to have something worth watching in the Summer time that is not re-runs. The cast is great and the writers keep the surprises coming. I started watching this show in it's second season which was amazing. The third season did not disappoint me so I went back and bought the 1st season on my kindle since I was having withdrawals from the show now that it's Winter. All 3 seasons have been great, have had their own big story and have had brilliant endings. I am looking forward to the 4th season which they are filming now and finding out what happens after the cliffhanger that was the season 3 finale.
