Synopsis

Sam Puckett is loud, independent, and tough as nails, while Cat Valentine is sweet as pie and super flighty. But that doesn't stop this unlikely pair from becoming best buds and roomies! Together, they're a power duo with a love for fun and adventure -- it's just too bad that it doesn't come cheap. Burgers at their favorite robot restaurant Bots don't grow on trees, after all. A booming out-of-home babysitting business quickly becomes the answer to their empty-pocket problems, but also an extra reason for countless wacky adventures to come!

Reviews

Dorathen Better Late Then Never
Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
riku54321 So, they took the least interesting character from iCarly: Sam (whose entire personality is just "criminal") and the least interesting character from Victorious: Cat (whose entire personality is just "stupid") and put them in a show together and somehow managed to give them both even less of a personality than they had in their original shows. And also for some reason the show is about them babysitting. Like why a Victorious/iCarly spin-off show be about babysitting. Why would anybody ever want to see either of these characters as babysitters? Also, for some reason none of the other iCarly or Victorious are ever even mentioned unless it's relevant to the plot of the episode. And even though iCarly had like millions of viewers, nobody ever recognizes Sam unless, again, it's relevant to the plot of the episode. Also, for some reason the only other person they ever hang out with is a 10 year old who is somehow a manager for a like 30 year old fighter who follows him around all the time. That's just creepy and weird.
Matt Herman Now I only have one way to show that this show just makes zero sense. And, I think it makes myself clear. Two teenagers live together, and run a babysitting service. Lets stop there. In the past, (iCarly), Sam had a pretty big criminal record. She probably couldn't go on a walk around the block without jumping a guy for his taco. Then there is Cat, a retarded nut job, who doesn't know anything realistic, and sounds like her head is filled with helium. If you told her that at the bottom of a cliff is a flying pony, she would jump. Now lets put them together into a babysitting service. No. Just, no. There is no way I would leave my child with a girl who carries a sock filled with butter, (a very stupid idea that originated in iCarly) and beat people with it, and a demented one brain celled, freak who can't answer the door without saying "ding-dong!". Yeah. Thats smart. I understand now why the show only ran for a little bit. Dan, just stop. I don't know who is thinking that this crap is "entertaining", and "funny", but they must be mistaken. Don't even get me started on Henry Danger. Dan, make something good, or don't make anything at all. Your shows suck.
rjc7394 I have not seen someone this funny (especially a young adult) in a very long time. I tuned in less than a month ago to see what Jennette McCurdy was up to and Ariana Grande's character totally shocked me. I had no idea what she was doing. At first I thought she was mentally-challenged then I read her say that she was playing dumb. She would stare into space and hesitate and wave her arms in the air and talk with an inflection that reminded me so much of Emo Phillips, the comedian (I could never understand him and I could not tolerate his inflection) or even Pee-Wee Herman to an extent. Ariana is so unique for her age and she's quick and an extremely good actor and comic. She is going to be huge at whatever she puts her mind to. (She is a better actor than any of the "Friends" actors were during their first two seasons.) I would give this series a "10" but I think the writing and themes can be poor. Producer Dan Schneider has a pretty warped sense of humor. Some of the stories and lines give bad examples to kids, imo: Sam and Cat are very materialistic, Sam's character basically hates people (eg. that part shocked me), and some of the other older characters seem very shallow. Plus, these characters do not need to be making butt jokes. (It's totally inappropriate for young kids.) But some of the stories, lines and sight gags are extremely funny! The acting and laughs sold me after the 3rd episode that I watched. This series had "success" written all over it due to Jennette and Ariana. (I would have replaced the writers if the series went on to a second season. I'm an adult male and I'll watch some of these adolescent shows for a change of pace just to see what they're up to. Lord knows Hollywood has been striking out with adult TV sitcoms and reality shows.) I can't believe that they couldn't bring Jennette and Ariana back together for more Sam and Cat!
stevetrowbridge98 I know...I know. This show is actually not targeted towards my age. But I've always said, just because a show or movie is targeted towards kids doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable for adults too. Drake and Josh is a good example of this. I'll go back and watch that show and laugh hysterically. But "Sam and Cat" does not apply to that. Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the show and plan on doing so the show is about Sam, from Icarly, and Cat, from Victorious. Cat gets thrown in a dumpster and Sam rescues her and they become friends and start a babysitting business at Cat's grandma's house who apparently is abandoning Cat. Why? I don't know. So that's basically what the show is about. This show is just...bad. I can't put it into words. Of course you've got the stupid overacting from everyone, one dimensional characters and weak writing. Plus it doesn't make sense. Why would these two characters create a babysitting business? Sam is a juvenile and Cat is borderline mentally retarded, it doesn't make any sense. Now if they had created a show called "Sam and Jade" that would've made way more sense. You take the ultimate bully in Icarly and take the mean, goth, bully-like Jade from Victorious, put them together and then you'd have a good interesting show, but no, apparently Nickelodeon can't be creative nowadays. I liked Icarly in it's early days, I hated Victorious, Sam and Cat takes it to a whole other level of stupidity. This show is terrible.
